




Job Summary: We are seeking a School Librarian to strategically support teaching and learning by organizing and managing the library collection to create a welcoming space aligned with pedagogical needs. This professional will be responsible for organizing and managing the library collection, ensuring a welcoming, accessible space aligned with the school’s pedagogical needs. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Organize, catalog, classify, and preserve the library collection, keeping it updated according to the school’s pedagogical needs. * Ensure the library environment is accessible, organized, welcoming, and suitable for use by students and the broader school community. * Support students and teachers in searching for, selecting, and using materials for research and pedagogical activities. * Suggest supplementary reading materials aligned with pedagogical projects and diverse age groups. * Develop and participate in interdisciplinary projects, school events, literary fairs, and cultural initiatives. * Promote reading and develop readers through reading circles, storytelling sessions, book clubs, and other related activities. * Mediate students’ engagement with various types of texts, including literary, informational, and digital materials. * Guide students in research, evaluation, and responsible use of information, encouraging ethical use of digital sources. * Support the application of technology to school research and media education. * Perform administrative tasks such as tracking loans and returns, preparing reports, and monitoring library usage. * Plan and manage the library budget, where applicable. * Collaborate closely with teachers, pedagogical coordinators, and other school departments. **Requirements and Qualifications** * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Library Science. * **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a librarian, preferably in a school or educational setting. * **Languages:** Advanced Portuguese, with excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
