Job Description We have an opening for a Corporate Manager, Safety and Risk, who will act strategically and cross-functionally, translating Anglo American’s global Safety and Operational Risk guidelines into practical, robust, and business-applicable solutions. This role plays a central part in building, evolving, and governing the Safety and Risk Management System, with strong interfaces across operations, executive leadership, contractors, and external stakeholders — directly contributing to the safety of employees, contractors, and surrounding communities. **Key Responsibilities** * Translate the corporate Safety and Operational Risk strategy into objectives, targets, and structured plans, ensuring alignment with global guidelines and the Brazilian operational context. * Define, structure, and evolve Safety and Risk management processes, aligned with industry best practices and applicable legal requirements. * Manage governance, evolution, and maintenance of matters related to the PAEBM (Mining Dam Emergency Action Plan), ensuring compliance with legal requirements and alignment with corporate guidelines. * Lead the development of digital tools and technological solutions, in partnership with the IT function, to support efficient management, data analysis, and decision-making. * Actively participate in critical governance forums such as Safety Committees, incident investigations, analyses of significant events, and consolidation of organizational learnings. * Ensure that significant business risks are properly identified, assessed, controlled, and monitored — including maintaining emergency response capability. * Develop and lead continuous improvement projects for the Safety and Risk Management System, incorporating lessons learned, performance indicators, and data analytics. * Ensure operational risks are clearly understood and that mitigation actions are effective — whether through investment, process changes, or operational routine adjustments. * Work closely with field operations to understand real-world challenges and support the implementation of effective, sustainable solutions. * Develop and apply advanced analytical tools for data exploration, trend identification, and precise deviation correction. * Ensure contractors operate in accordance with Anglo American’s risk profile, using corporate systems or equivalent solutions. Qualifications **The profile we seek for this position:** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Humanities, or related fields. + Active CREA registration, with eligibility to issue ART (Technical Responsibility Record) for Position and Function. + Brazilian driver’s license, Category B. + Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Safety. + MBA or postgraduate degree in areas related to management, risk, or safety. + Advanced English proficiency, with ability to communicate and negotiate effectively in a global corporate environment. + Solid experience in Safety and Operational Risk within highly complex industrial environments. + Proven experience in technical governance, operational safety, and management of critical risks. + Consistent experience leading technical teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
