Job Summary: We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop microservices and contribute to software design for a new technology architecture based on microservices, with high impact in the insurance sector. Key Highlights: 1. Transformation of legacy systems into scalable and integrated solutions 2. Building a new technology architecture based on microservices 3. Design and evolution of services for technical provisions management If you enjoy programming in challenging environments, are motivated by transforming legacy systems into scalable and integrated solutions, and want to leave your mark on a high-impact project in the insurance sector, this opportunity may be perfect for you. Some time ago, we decided to build our own technology ecosystem to accelerate our business. We realized that off-the-shelf solutions available in the market did not fully meet our core business needs or our operational model. Since then, we have been building a new microservices-based technology architecture, migrating our insurance products and strengthening our Plug & Play strategy—which enables partners (MGAs) to connect directly to our operations, bringing greater agility, efficiency, and standardization. To join our team, we seek a Software Engineer responsible for designing and developing microservices that compose the digital ecosystem supporting the insurer’s back-office processes. You will play a significant role in software design within an event-driven microservices architecture, while also getting hands-on in building these services—and contributing to the overall evolution of the digital ecosystem architecture. This role bridges three fundamental dimensions: system design, software engineering, and business operations understanding. We expect a candidate with strong system design and domain modeling capabilities—able to translate complex operational workflows into well-defined, architecture-aligned services, prepared to evolve alongside growing operational and business complexity. **TECH STACK AND ARCHITECTURE** Event-driven architecture • Microservices • C#/.NET • Vue.js • REST APIs • Messaging • SQL • Azure • CI/CD So, does this resonate with you? **Join our team!** **RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES** **As part of Team Excelsior, your responsibilities will include:** #### **System Design** * Designing services that structure back-office digital workflows * Defining API contracts, domain events, and integration patterns across services * Ensuring consistency among services, data models, and integrations within the digital ecosystem * Contributing to the evolution of the digital ecosystem architecture #### **Software Engineering** * Developing and evolving microservices, integrations, and other critical platform components * Implementing solutions based on messaging and asynchronous processing * Applying best practices in software design, automated testing, and service observability * Supporting technical decisions related to service design and implementation * Contributing to continuous improvement of development processes through agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices #### **Business and Operations Integration** * Understanding back-office operational workflows and processes * Translating operational needs into well-structured digital services * Collaborating with business and operations teams to structure systemic solutions supporting those workflows **REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS** **For this opportunity, you must have:** #### **Technical Knowledge** * Experience with multiple programming languages * Knowledge of data modeling and best practices in architecture and software design * Experience with event-driven architectures, including queues and messaging systems * Experience with automated testing, design patterns, and software engineering best practices * Experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices * Experience with **cloud** environments, preferably **Azure.** #### **Nice-to-Haves** * Interest in or experience with functional programming. * Interest in or experience with non-relational or temporal databases (e.g., NoSQL, Datomic). * Experience designing and developing software for financial or accounting management systems. * Experience in innovative technology environments, such as fintechs or insurtechs. **PROBLEMS YOU WILL SOLVE** Lead the design and evolution of services structuring the insurer’s technical provisions management—including claims reserves, reinsurance contractual rules, financial flow controls between insurer and reinsurers, and auditing of operational data distributed across multiple services.
