To support this mission, Syngenta’s Seeds team is seeking an Associate Scientist in Cascavel. This role will support the delivery of: **Responsibilities:** * Manage, implement, and execute multidisciplinary processes and tasks; monitor planting, pollination, harvesting, drying, shelling, experimental setup, planting kit preparation, and seed shipment/receipt; * Analyze operational KPIs using data analytics and internal tools to monitor process quality and efficiency; lead and propose action plans for continuous process improvement, working to optimize gains, reduce losses, and increase activity productivity; * Ensure compliance with internal occupational health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards and the Quality Management System (QMS); * Train personnel and strengthen technical alignment among teams operating internally and externally within the region; conduct phenotypic evaluations of corn inbred lines and hybrids, as well as lead and monitor field activities across various regions of Brazil; * Strong capability for critical and in-depth analysis of data (phenotypic/genotypic), plus ability to discuss statistical modeling and experimental design. Will be a key contributor in executing strategies to enhance the effectiveness of breeding programs, application and development of new technologies, genetic quality assurance, and—most importantly—monitoring seed production field activities (nurseries). **Qualifications** **Required:** * Ph.D. in Plant Breeding / Genetics; * Ability and passion for fieldwork; * Knowledge of Statistics and data analysis; * General knowledge of corn (genetics, physiology, plant pathology, management, etc.); * Knowledge of quantitative genetics and molecular data analysis; * Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with people from diverse educational backgrounds and levels of specialization; * Willingness and availability to travel is essential; * Advanced English proficiency. **Preferred:** * Preferred: programming experience in R or Python. **Additional Information** **What We Offer** * A culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion, promotes professional development, and seeks a healthy balance between professional and personal life to support team members.
