Job Summary: A professional responsible for performing and assisting in orthopedic immobilizations as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient preparation, asepsis, and maintenance of materials. Key Highlights: 1. Direct involvement in the application and removal of orthopedic immobilizations. 2. Collaboration with the medical team in reduction and traction procedures. 3. Prepare the patient for the procedure; assess the type of immobilization based on the physician’s prescription; confirm with the patient the anatomical site to be immobilized; Assess the condition of the area to be immobilized; record procedures in designated forms; Confirm patient allergies to immobilization materials; Perform aseptic preparation of the area to be immobilized; Fabricate immobilization devices using synthetic, metallic, circumferential plaster, adhesive tape, splints, bandages, skin traction devices, cervical collars, and other materials, as directed by the physician; Maintain cleanliness of the immobilization room and the patient; report any non-conformities in this process to the hygiene department; Remove immobilizations upon physician instruction; Assist physicians in reductions, skeletal traction, and immobilizations; Prepare materials and instruments for medical procedures; Verify the integrity of immobilizations for hospitalized patients; Store sharps for proper disposal; Maintain and preserve departmental equipment and materials, identifying issues and reporting them to immediate supervisors; Adhere to all principles and conduct criteria outlined in the SPDM Administrative Compliance Manual – Policies and Integrity Principles; Carry out institutional responsibilities regarding personal data protection practices – LGPD; Perform sector/department activities in accordance with instructions from the immediate manager and institutional standards. **Responsibilities and Duties** Apply plaster or provisional immobilizations as prescribed by physicians and instruct patients on required care for their immobilization or dressing. Regularly and continuously—rather than occasionally or intermittently—exposed to biological hazards (viruses and bacteria). **Requirements and Qualifications** * Be at least 18 years old; * Have completed high school; * Have completed an Orthopedic Immobilization Technician course; * Have at least six months’ experience as an Orthopedic Immobilization Technician or Cast Technician; **Additional Information** Professionals from partner companies, suppliers, and/or service providers; individuals with familial or affinity ties working in the same service or under alternative contractual arrangements (e.g., contracts with third-party providers) must comply with current HR regulations, verified through consultation with the Recruitment and Selection Department. **SPDM – Associação Paulista para o Desenvolvimento da Medicina** is a non-profit, philanthropic civil association, federally, state-, and municipally recognized as being of public utility, respectively by Decrees No. 57,925 dated 03/04/1966, No. 40,103 dated 05/17/1962, and No. 8,911 dated 07/30/1970.
