Be part of it—and shape your world. **About the Role:** Alcoa is seeking a professional to join its **São Luís/MA** unit. As a **Welder**, you will be responsible for joining and cutting metal alloy components using welding and cutting processes such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal inert gas (MIG), metal active gas (MAG), oxy-fuel, submerged arc, brazing, and plasma. Additionally, you will prepare equipment, accessories, welding and cutting consumables, and components to be welded. You will also strictly apply safety, workplace organization, and environmental standards. **Key Responsibilities Include:** * Perform welding services in all positions, cutting, and filling on equipment parts and components, plates, and repairs of installations and structures; * Perform welds using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), fusion and deposition welds, electrode cutting, and oxy\-acetylene cutting; * Interpret drawings, standards, and work instructions; * Perform specialized welds such as MIG, MAG, TIG, metallized/plasma, and submerged arc, adjusting equipment and materials according to service type to ensure no fatigue or rupture; * Prepare components for welding; * Maintain welding machines and oxy\-fuel cutting equipment in proper working condition; * Conduct crack testing on metallic components and inspect welds on structures, metallic bases, and piping supports; * And other related activities. **What You Can Bring to This Role:** * Completed High School education * Technical or vocational training in mechanical engineering; * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); * Prior experience in this role; * Desired specific knowledge of boilerplate layout, welding techniques, metrology, and oxy\-fuel cutting equipment; * Desired knowledge of ABS fundamentals, TPM, and EHS; * **Reside in São Luís/MA.** **What We Offer:** * As a values-based company, we act with integrity, operate with excellence, care for people, and lead with courage; * Opportunity to build a long-term career across our local and global operations; * Recognized as one of the best companies to work for by the Great Place to Work program; * Recognized by the Exame Diversity Guide as one of the companies with best practices related to inclusion, equity, gender, ethnicity, race, persons with disabilities (PwD), and LGBTQIA\+ individuals; **Additional Information** * You will only be contacted if selected for an interview; this process may take up to four weeks from the job posting closing date; * **When applying, remember to attach your resume.** Application Closing Date: 04/24/2026 **About the Location** The Alumar Consortium, managed by Alcoa, located 25 kilometers from the center of São Luís \- MA, began its operations in 1984\.
