The Industrial Plumber develops piping installation projects, selects pipe routing layouts, and calculates pipe dimensions. In addition, they determine the quantity of materials required for projects and maintenance, and perform fluid pressure and leak-tightness tests to prevent leaks. They join and cut metal alloy components using welding and cutting processes such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, metal inert gas (MIG) welding, metal active gas (MAG) welding, oxy-fuel welding, submerged arc welding (SAW), brazing, and plasma cutting. They prepare equipment, accessories, welding and cutting consumables, and components to be welded. This professional installs and maintains hydraulic systems (fire protection) in residential buildings, commercial establishments, and industrial facilities.
