**About the position:** This is the first Backend Developer position dedicated to the Innovation and Digital Growth area of Rigarr Group. The professional will play a strategic role in structuring and developing the company’s technology function. The Innovation and Digital Growth area focuses on applying technology, automation, and artificial intelligence to Rigarr Group’s operations, building solutions for various departments across the organization. Currently, this area is in a consolidation phase—evolving from testing and prototyping toward building robust, scalable platforms that meet production-grade quality standards. **Your main responsibilities will be:** The hired candidate will be a central contributor to building the area’s platform, working directly with the Head. Key areas where we need support include: * Develop and maintain the internal platform using Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL. Implement end\-to\-end features (from backend to database), with automated testing and code review as natural parts of the development process. * Model and propose data structures. Designing canonical tables, schemas, and relationships is central to this role. We expect candidates to propose structures—not merely implement pre-defined requirements. * Build and maintain integrations with internal and external systems: ERP TOTVS Winthor, Evolution API (WhatsApp), Google Places, Receita Federal (Brazilian Federal Revenue), OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude. These integrations form the connective tissue linking operational systems. * Review code and critically assess repository health. Identify technical debt, propose refactoring strategies, and improve the codebase that will be inherited and maintained over time. * Investigate and resolve production bugs. Correlate logs, isolate root causes, and propose fixes. Work methodically—not through trial and error. * Work on commercial automations and workflows: message queues and asynchronous jobs, system-to-system integrations, and data transformation and movement. * Propose improvements and participate in architectural decisions. This role is not only about execution—it’s about shaping how the platform evolves. **Who we’re looking for:** Personal attributes (what matters most): We seek an entrepreneurial, curious individual who resonates with the idea of building something from the ground up; A passion for challenges and for building from scratch. This position is unprecedented: the person joining will help define how the team and its processes operate; An entrepreneurial mindset: takes initiative, proposes solutions, and acts without waiting for direction; Strong problem-solving ability: takes vague problems, decomposes them, selects an approach, and delivers results; Genuine desire to learn. Technology evolves rapidly, and this role demands continuous self-driven learning; An investigative mindset: digs deep into root causes rather than accepting surface symptoms; asks the right questions early on; Organized and clear communication: documents decisions, writes useful PR descriptions, and clearly explains trade\-offs; Prior experience launching projects (even informally): understands operating amid ambiguity, shifting priorities, and processes still under construction. **Technical knowledge:** * Node.js with Express (or similar framework), with solid experience building production applications. * PostgreSQL: schema modeling, writing queries (joins, subqueries, aggregations), understanding indexes, and performing versioned migrations. * Docker proficiency sufficient to launch, inspect, and debug containers in real environments. * Git with a healthy Pull Request workflow (atomic commits, meaningful descriptions, ego-free reviews). * Ability to conduct high-quality code reviews: read others’ code, identify improvement opportunities, and provide constructive feedback without pedantry. * Technical English sufficient to read documentation. **Nice-to-haves:** Not mandatory—but highly valued: * Experience integrating ERPs, especially TOTVS Winthor (Oracle). * WhatsApp Business via Evolution API, Baileys, or similar. * Production AI applications: OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude API, embeddings, RAG. * Real-world TypeScript experience. Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
