Job Summary: We are seeking a professional with solid technical expertise in data modeling, DBMSs, query languages, and ETL, along with practical experience in designing and maintaining databases. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively in teams. **Description: Essential Technical Knowledge:** A\- **Data Modeling:** Deep understanding of how to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models. This includes identifying entities, attributes, and relationships, as well as applying normalization techniques to optimize database design and avoid redundancy. A\- **Database Management Systems (DBMSs):** Experience with at least one—but ideally several—popular DBMSs, such as: o **Relational:** MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server. A\- **Query Languages:** Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) for creating, modifying, and querying relational databases. For NoSQL databases, familiarity with their specific query languages (e.g., JSON for MongoDB). A\- **Database Concepts:** Solid understanding of concepts such as transactions (ACID), indexes, primary and foreign keys, views, stored procedures, triggers, security, and query optimization. A\- **ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Tools Knowledge:** For data movement and transformation, especially in data warehousing projects. A\- **Practical Experience:** Proven experience in database design, implementation, and maintenance; data migration experience; knowledge of Python or shell scripting; and experience handling heterogeneous file formats. **Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:** A\- **Logical and Structural Thinking:** Aptitude for logically organizing information and identifying optimal data structures for different types of information. A\- **Conflict Resolution:** Ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies or conflicts in data requirements. **Communication and Collaboration Skills:** A\- **Effective Communication:** Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to document database designs clearly and concisely. A\- **Teamwork:** Collaboration with developers, business analysts, and other teams to ensure the database meets the needs of the entire application or system. A\- **Documentation:** Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation of the database schema, data dictionary, and entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs). **Additional Tools and Technologies (Nice-to-Have):** A\- **Data Modeling Tools:** Familiarity with tools such as ER/Studio, MySQL Workbench, pgAdmin, SQL Developer. A\- **Cloud Knowledge:** Experience with cloud-based database services, such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL. A\- **Performance Tuning:** Ability to optimize database performance, including analyzing query execution plans, optimizing indexes, and configuring server settings. **Formal Qualifications and Experience:** A\- **Academic Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields. Completed undergraduate studies. **Years of Experience:** 4 years and 0 months.
