HEAVY MACHINERY OPERATOR – JOB DESCRIPTION Are you detail-oriented, responsible, and do you enjoy working in a dynamic environment? Then this position is for you! We are looking for a Heavy Machinery Operator to join our team. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES * Operate or drive machinery up to 170 HP * Operate crawler tractors for waste spreading, compaction, and covering at the landfill; * Use roller compactors for soil compaction; * Operate machinery in compliance with safety regulations and limits, taking all necessary precautions to prevent spills, rollovers, runovers, and cargo spills * Keep machinery in perfect condition regarding cleanliness and maintenance * Check equipment operational conditions—such as water level, oil level, filters, etc.—before starting work (completed checklist); * Report equipment issues to the maintenance department and/or supervisor; * Monitor equipment activities and respective ohmmeter readings, correctly completing daily logs as instructed by coordination. * Use hydraulic excavators for truck loading, drainage construction, waste unloading, trench excavation, and other applicable tasks. * Use wheel loaders for material loading in areas requiring higher productivity and other applicable tasks.
