




Job Summary: Responsible for operating, monitoring, and controlling sewage collection, transportation, and treatment systems during the night shift, ensuring system functionality and operational compliance. Responding to incidents and contingencies Responsible for the operation, monitoring, and control of sewage collection, transportation, and treatment systems during the night shift at the Salgueiro regional unit. Ensures proper functioning of pumping stations and treatment plants, guaranteeing process continuity, operational efficiency, and compliance with environmental and safety regulations. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Operate sanitary sewer system units and facilities (networks, pumping stations, Wastewater Treatment Plants [ETEs], and associated units), ensuring operational continuity and compliance. * Perform routine operational procedures including equipment start-up/shutdown, switching operations, inspections, and process adjustments in accordance with established procedures. * Monitor operational and environmental parameters (e.g., flow rates, water levels, BOD/COD where applicable, solids, odors), recording readings and incidents. * Support and supervise cleaning, unclogging, overflow control, and pumping station operations, as applicable. * Support sludge and process waste management, following quality and environmental guidelines. * Support sampling activities and interface with laboratory/quality teams, ensuring adherence to the sampling plan and proper recordkeeping. * Identify anomalies, alert maintenance/automation teams, and support operational recovery during critical incidents. * Comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and confined space work procedures, where applicable. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; technical training in Sanitation, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields is desirable. * Experience operating Wastewater Treatment Plants (ETEs), pumping stations, sewer networks, or related activities; experience in sanitation/utilities is preferred. * Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, pump and blower operation, valve handling, and field routines. * Ability to respond to incidents and contingencies (e.g., overflows, equipment failures, blockages). * Strong communication skills, organizational ability, and discipline in maintaining operational records. * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or operational recordkeeping systems. * Availability to work on rotating shifts/night shifts and on-call duties, as applicable. * Valid Brazilian driver’s license (Category B); willingness to travel between operational units. * Willingness to work onsite in Salgueiro/PE. **Additional Information** **BENEFITS:** Medical assistance; Dental assistance; Life insurance; Transportation allowance; Meal voucher and/or food allowance; Profit-sharing program (PLR); The **VITA Sertão** is a sanitation concessionaire established to drive development in the Sertão region of Pernambuco.
