A **Ramp Assistant** will perform ramp handling operations (sorting, loading, and unloading) for aircraft safely, efficiently, and punctually, ensuring process efficiency and contributing to customers’ perception of the company’s services regarding baggage and cargo transportation and flight punctuality. Assist with aircraft arrivals and departures, and perform aircraft cleaning when required. **This position is exclusively for the Aracaju Airport (AJU)!** -------------------------------------------------------------------- **Responsibilities and Duties** * Monitor aircraft during arrivals and departures; * Verify and monitor baggage and cargo labels; * Place and remove wheel chocks and cones on aircraft according to the Customer Manual or dnata’s MGO; * Sort baggage and cargo volumes into airport sorting areas by reading identification labels (with or without technological assistance), ensuring correct loading onto storage devices (carts and/or ULDs) for respective flights; * Load baggage and cargo into aircraft holds following procedures and standards outlined in the MGO, including special handling recommendations (e.g., fragile, hazardous, live animals, perishable items); * Unload baggage and cargo by reading volume identification labels and place them at designated locations (baggage reclaim carousels); * Sort baggage and cargo during aircraft unloading to facilitate interline connections by reading volume identification labels; * Inspect and supervise baggage and cargo packaging to ensure suitability for transport, thereby ensuring flight and handler safety; * Properly handle and correctly stow baggage and cargo in aircraft holds, observing internal restraint requirements and hold height safety limits; * Unload wheelchairs or baby strollers and place them at designated locations; * Guide non-motorized equipment during docking procedures to prevent collisions with the aircraft fuselage; * Perform aircraft handling within the timeframes established for each type of service and airport classification; * Conduct pre-use checks on non-motorized equipment to ensure operational safety and report any equipment requiring repairs to the GSE Technical Maintenance team; * Report any equipment-related issues encountered during operations to supervisors. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Strong interpersonal communication skills; * Analytical ability to assess situations; * Stress resilience; Physical requirements include broad and fine motor coordination, dexterity, upper and lower limb articulation, bipedal posture for performing duties, trunk rotation and flexion, physical exertion, and mobility throughout the entire operational area. Sensory requirements include visual acuity for moving baggage from carousels to transport equipment, chocking, and aircraft loading/unloading with luggage and cargo; signaling around the aircraft being serviced; and inspecting and scanning the floor for dropped objects. Auditory acuity is required to identify audible signals from equipment and machinery on the apron.
