




Job Summary: The Engine Operator manages the vessel's Engine Section, ensuring operational and technical efficiency, safety, and compliance of propulsion systems and equipment. Leadership, initiative, and proactivity in team and operational management Description: The Engine Operator is the professional responsible for the technical and operational management of the vessel's Engine Section. They directly oversee the operation, maintenance, consumption control, and safety of propulsion systems and auxiliary equipment, ensuring efficiency and safety of onboard operations. They are also accountable for organizing the technical team, managing materials, and preparing operational reports for the section. Main Responsibilities: * Manage and supervise maneuvers in the Engine Room; * Coordinate and control fuel and material consumption; * Plan and supervise repairs both onboard and at external workshops; * Inspect tanks, machinery condition, and inventoried materials; * Ensure proper use of PPE and report irregularities to the Captain; * Implement pollution prevention measures and perform emergency repairs; * Issue technical and operational status reports for the section; * Maintain continuous safety and efficiency of the department. Work Location: Harbor Tugboat. Work Schedule: 3x2x2x3\. Desired Qualifications: * Education: STCW III/5 Engine Operator; * Valid maritime certification; * Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) for the position; * Up-to-date vaccination record. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in port support activities; * Experience with azimuthal propulsion.
