CONCRETE LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Description

Job Summary: Assist in the collection and performance of construction material testing, ensuring quality and compliance with technical standards and laboratory and field procedures. Key Highlights: 1. Experience in concrete laboratory field 2. Basic knowledge of technological tests for concrete and aggregates 3. Availability to work in the field and in the laboratory * Completed high school (technical course in Building Construction, Civil Construction, or related fields is desirable). * Additional experience in concrete laboratory field will be considered an advantage. + Basic knowledge of technological tests for concrete and aggregates will be considered an advantage. + Familiarity with interpretation of technical standards and laboratory procedures. + Familiarity with quality control of civil construction materials. + Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office for completing reports and records. + Organization, attention to detail, and commitment to test quality. + Ability to work effectively in a team and follow technical procedures. + Good communication skills and proactivity. + Availability to work in the field and in the laboratory when required. + Commitment to occupational safety regulations and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). * Assist in collecting samples of concrete, mortar, cement, and aggregates. * + Mold concrete test specimens in accordance with technical standards. + Assist in performing fresh-state concrete tests (Slump Test, temperature, specific gravity, among others). + Assist in hardened concrete tests, such as compressive strength testing of concrete specimens. + Prepare, organize, and clean materials, equipment, and instruments used in testing. + Perform identification, storage, and curing of test specimens. + Support completion of control forms, test records, and technical reports. + Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and equipment preservation. + Assist in calibration and verification of laboratory equipment as instructed. + Accompany sampling and testing activities at construction sites and concrete plants when necessary. + Comply with internal quality procedures and applicable technical standards. + Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to occupational safety regulations. + Report any non-conformities identified during testing to the responsible technical staff. + Perform other related duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.
