Leads continuous improvement projects in material planning **Description** **The opportunity:** The Material Planning Assistant joins the planning team and is responsible for ensuring the availability of materials used in the production of power transformers at the right quantity and time. This position requires deep integration across the entire planning and manufacturing execution process to support decision-making with accurate information regarding material supply. The Material Planning Assistant ensures appropriate inventory levels and promptly resolves supply issues arising from engineering changes and quality problems in manufacturing. Uses Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools in SAP to maintain and obtain accurate data enabling effective management and fulfillment of material supply while balancing cash flow. This is a fully on-site position in Blumenau/SC. **How you will make an impact:** 1. Analyze and resolve exception messages together with procurement buyers and adjust Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to finalize purchase requisitions. 2. Optimize and maintain MRP planning parameters, including lead time, reorder point, safety stock, scrap, lot sizes, and planning strategies. 3. Monitor release schedules and align planning for critical long-lead-time materials with the master production schedule. 4. Perform forecasting for imported raw materials in the system and implement analysis and maintenance routines for planning strategies that improve inventory balancing. 5. Support procurement buyers to enhance supplier performance regarding on-time delivery, quality, lead time, and flexibility. 6. Support the inventory management team with analyses and handling of: obsolete materials, appropriate inventory levels, ABC/XYZ classification for rotating inventories, non-conforming materials, engineering substitutions or changes, internal material flow and dispatch, phase-in/out processes, and product and material reuse. 7. Develop and lead continuous improvement projects in material planning, inventory management, and inventory turnover, focusing on the supply chain, operational efficiency, and waste elimination. 8. Generate and maintain reports and KPIs demonstrating planning and supply performance to support organizational tactical and strategic decisions. 9. Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable internal and external standards, procedures, and guidelines. **Requirements:** * Completed High School education * Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields is a plus. * Experience with SAP ERP system; modules MM and PP are desirable. * Experience in material planning and management, inventory control, inventory turnover, and material policy definition. * Experience in a highly complex production environment is a plus. * Advanced Excel skills **Qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
