Dow has an opportunity for a Production Operator at the Santos Dumont \- MG (BRA) plant. This position will support activities related to the production of metallic silicon in the furnace area. Among the related activities, we can highlight the need to maintain continuous drainage of the furnaces, ensure the integrity and reliability of equipment and production means, as well as availability and support to teams and interface areas. Responsibilities:* Follows Operational Discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards and practices to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of designated plant areas. * Operates and checks process equipment to maintain operational reliability. * Monitors process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment and control systems, and makes appropriate decisions to maintain and/or achieve goals established by the Plant/ Site / Business. * Executes planned operational tasks and related tasks arising as a result of resolving unplanned events. * Works in teams and interacts with other shift teams to leverage skills and knowledge to balance workload, ensuring assigned tasks are completed according to established dates and deadlines. * Contributes to effective shift handover, as defined by the specific operational discipline of the facility and tools, to ensure effective communication and transfer to the incoming shift team. * Maintains qualification in designated areas per facility policy, and completes training goals timely. This includes using discretionary time to address skill and knowledge gaps. * Executes/ supports Immediate Response activities as designated. * Uses process knowledge and skills to improve plant performance and operational discipline. Proactively identifies improvements and opportunities using facility improvement processes, appropriate management of change processes, and communication tools. * Performs Autonomous Maintenance, including minor repairs and preventive maintenance, using appropriate policies, procedures, processes and disciplines. Duties:* Performs furnace tapping. * Performs closing and opening of the runner channel. * Provides support during predictive and preventive maintenance (PPM) and system integrity checks. * Conducts trainings according to company standards. * Understands and follows all identified Dow work processes. * Performs maneuvers in the operating area. * Supports the associate operator. * Performs cleaning and organization of the area. * Conducts thermography monitoring on ladles and tap holes. * Interfaces with other personnel in the plant who support process control in troubleshooting and updates. * Monitors system diagnostics in alignment with the plant's process control team. * Participates in risk assessment when system activities are required. * Escalates issues to additional support resources and follow-ups as necessary.
