**1\. Mandatory Requirements:**
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in developing and managing CAPEX projects for mechanical equipment/components.
* Experience in steelmaking and/or mining.
* Availability to work under a 4x1 schedule in Santa Cruz, RJ, with 4 days on-site and 1 day remote.
**2\. Position Purpose**
The professional will be responsible for developing projects that ensure personnel safety and environmental protection, guaranteeing compliance with technical standards, cost\-benefit optimization, and delivery within the established timeline and budget.
* Execute engineering for proposals and/or projects within their areas of responsibility, adhering to the defined program and budget, in accordance with the client's quality, environmental, and constructability requirements.
* Perform calculations and engineering design within their specialty to meet the company's defined objectives for various projects in terms of constructability, quality, costs, and timelines.
* Support the timely implementation of investment projects within IMA areas, aiming to increase production capacity, reduce costs, improve product and service quality, and enhance fundamental aspects of Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection.
**3\. Job Responsibilities**
* Prepare, update, and issue technical reports, sketches, and calculation memoranda, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
* Provide specialized technical support to internal customers (engineering) and external customers (within the plant), within the scope of their discipline.
* Develop calculations and designs for mechanical systems and equipment, including support structures, piping, and industrial components, ensuring robustness, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
* Participate in multidisciplinary industrial projects across conceptual, basic, and detailed phases, ensuring cross-disciplinary integration.
* Prepare technical reports, expert opinions, and calculation memoranda related to mechanical equipment, with emphasis on quality and safety.
* Conduct critical review of technical documentation from contracted engineering firms, including inspection reports, drawings, and calculation memoranda.
* Use CAD tools for preparation and review of technical drawings (intermediate AutoCAD proficiency required).
* Perform advanced mechanical analyses and simulations using software such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or Autodesk Inventor, ensuring compliance with regulatory criteria, equipment/system performance, and reliability.
**4\. Key Processes and Tasks (Specific)**
**Basic Engineering:**
* Develop basic engineering received from clients, adding value to make the detailed engineering phase more efficient.
* Support defining resources required to execute engineering activities.
* Consolidate information provided by engineers and, if necessary, analyze specifications or scopes to identify technical and constructability alternatives, while flagging detected risks.
* Prepare the Project Execution Plan (PEP) for the specialty, defining the execution strategy.
* Review basic engineering documentation provided by clients to determine whether contractual requirements and scope are adequately defined, and request necessary clarifications.
* Prepare budgets for each task and reach consensus with clients.
* Coordinate information exchanged with and from other disciplines.
**Detailed Engineering:**
* Coordinate development of engineering commitments within the project, meeting the specialty's schedule in a timely manner.
* Review the awarded contract/budget against the offer requirements, highlighting discrepancies and verifying the strategy (design, materials, documentation) defined during the offer stage.
* Review and assume responsibility for executing engineering for projects under their responsibility and/or overseeing others (e.g., hours allocated over time, hours per category, list of deliverables, progress tracking, etc.).
* Prepare execution schedules for plans, define delivery dates, organize and supervise project staff and external support personnel.
* Perform and/or review calculation memoranda for the specialty.
* In collaboration with the discipline leader, define drawing criteria to be applied to each project and each specific deliverable, ensuring uniform application of procedures.
* Approve and issue technical documentation for their specialty.
* Maintain effective coordination with clients and construction teams.
* Select the most appropriate materials and equipment based on client requirements and project characteristics.
* Support the Construction Technical Office by resolving specific issues during the construction phase.
**Technology and Quality:**
* Evaluate emerging technologies within their specialty that may optimize project efficiency.
* Ensure drawings comply with the company’s and clients’ quality standards and procedures, and establish necessary controls to enforce quality policies and procedures.
