What will be your responsibilities and duties? * Develop ideas for new research projects and applications that could lead to the creation of new technological solutions, identifying relevant issues and defining clear objectives within your area of expertise to solve practical or academic problems and create innovative solutions; * Conduct scientific research using various methods and types (theoretical, experimental, quantitative, qualitative, etc.), including defining hypotheses, general and specific objectives, and a guiding research question aimed at application in new businesses and/or dissemination in the scientific community; * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in project execution, contributing your expertise and technical skills; * Carry out data collection (when appropriate), ensuring it is done accurately and systematically, interpreting collected data to derive relevant conclusions that contribute to project objectives; * Identify opportunities for securing funding for research projects from funding agencies, private companies, governmental and international organizations, contributing to proposal writing with the goal of obtaining financial support; * Participate in lectures, national and international research groups, exchange programs, and collaborate on projects within your expertise, helping build a research network and expanding the reach and dissemination of knowledge; * Write technical and scientific articles for national and international journals, publish in high-impact academic journals, books, or scientific publications, and present findings at conferences or events, increasing visibility for your research outcomes; * Supervise research fellows, master's and doctoral students in developing their scientific work, contributing to training new researchers and disseminating scientific knowledge within the academic and scientific community; * Stay updated on scientific and technological advancements in your field to ensure projects align with the latest trends and innovations; * Ensure research activities comply with local, national, and international regulations, as well as ethical standards and principles in research; * Ensure that intellectual property rules are followed throughout the research process. * Teach classes in academic training courses and/or for company professionals and partners; * Identify and propose new research and development opportunities with potential for funding acquisition. It is important that you have: * Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields; * PhD in the area of specialization (mandatory requirement) or in related areas with proven experience in your field; * Advanced proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, speaking); * **In-depth knowledge of Quantum Computing**; * Knowledge of research techniques and methods, including experimentation, data collection and analysis, modeling, simulation, etc; * Knowledge in **Quantum Machine Learning** and **Quantum Optimization**; * Proficiency in programming languages such as Qiskit, Q#, and others; * Familiarity with guidelines and procedures for writing and publishing national and international scientific articles and outputs; * Competence in preparing and presenting research results at conferences, workshops, and stakeholder meetings; * Ability to prepare project documentation, progress reports, and funding submissions; * Relevant scientific, technological, and/or professional output (e.g., scientific journal publications); * Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in scientific or technological research, with a proven publication record; It would be great if you have: * Experience leading and/or conducting training sessions; * Experience mentoring colleagues in developing trainings; * Experience supporting colleagues in applying quantum technologies; * Prior involvement in projects will be a differentiating factor.
