Job Summary: We are seeking a CHIEF ENGINEER (1OM / OSM) to ensure the availability of machinery and equipment aboard FSV vessels through preventive maintenance and operational management. Key Highlights: 1. Ensure the availability and reliability of machinery and equipment. 2. Lead planned preventive maintenance on FSV vessels. 3. Monitor and control marine equipment to ensure continuous operation. **We are looking for a CHIEF ENGINEER (1OM / OSM) to work aboard our FSV vessels; your mission will be to ensure the availability of the vessel’s machinery, equipment, and auxiliary systems through efficient and appropriate execution of planned preventive maintenance.** **Responsibilities and Duties** * Actively participate in the vessel’s shift handover process, reporting to the Master complete information regarding equipment status updates, current conditions, and actions completed or pending for the next shift/crew; * Monitor and control all equipment aboard the Maritime Unit, ensuring normal operating parameters; * Continuously verify proper operation of metrology instruments (ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters, power indicators, thermometers, pressure gauges, level indicators) to confirm accurate operational indices for vessel equipment; * Continuously monitor correct operation of pre-alarms and alarms on equipment to enable timely intervention in case of failure; * Strictly comply with equipment hour-meter reports, inventory records, and consumption logs for filters, greases, lubricants, and fuels; * Daily control of fuel, water, and lubricant inventory levels and consumption aboard the vessel via physical tank inspections; * Execute work orders within established deadlines to keep preventive maintenance programs up to date; * Coordinate with the Master regarding the availability and reliability of the vessel’s machinery, equipment, and auxiliary systems to carry out planned maintenance activities without affecting operations; * Assess and resolve equipment failures to ensure operational continuity and prevent further damage. Utilize all available resources to independently resolve encountered problems and promptly report actions taken; * Notify the Master of the Maritime Unit of all failures that may compromise vessel availability and cannot be resolved onboard; * Implement and oversee application of QSMS (Quality, Safety, Environment, and Health) processes to comply with legal requirements, Company Policies, and Customer expectations; * Report and analyze problems and anomalies arising during operations, personnel status, and equipment under your responsibility to propose corrective and preventive actions to General Management; **Requirements and Qualifications** CIR 1OM / OSM Certificates III/2, TBS, EESS/ESPM, ECIA, EPSM/ESCM, EBCP/EOPN, HPGM/EGPM, ESAT (HPAV1 and HPAV2\).
