Position: Purchaser
Position Objective
Responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services required for manufacturing machinery and equipment destined for the dairy industry, ensuring quality, delivery schedule, competitive cost, and technical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Request quotations and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers;
* Purchase metallic raw materials (stainless steel, sheets, pipes, profiles, sanitary fittings, etc.);
* Acquire mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components;
* Procure machined parts and outsourced services;
* Develop and qualify new suppliers;
* Evaluate supplier quality, delivery lead times, and costs;
* Issue purchase orders and monitor deliveries;
* Control supply lead times to support production requirements;
* Analyze procurement needs based on production planning and control (PCP) and minimum stock levels;
* Negotiate contracts, pricing, freight, and commercial terms;
* Monitor procurement KPIs and cost reduction initiatives;
* Verify invoices against purchase orders and goods receipts;
* Collaborate closely with Engineering, Warehousing, Production, and Finance departments;
* Ensure compliance with technical specifications and sanitary standards for dairy equipment;
* Monitor the stainless steel market and other industrial supplies;
* Utilize ERP systems for procurement and inventory control;
* Support internal inventories and audits.
Desired Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or related fields;
* Experience in industrial/metallurgical procurement;
* Knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings;
* Familiarity with stainless materials and industrial components;
* Experience with industrial ERP systems;
* Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills;
* Intermediate/advanced Excel proficiency.
