**Join us as a Material Handling Assistant** **PURPOSE OF THE ROLE** This role is responsible for assisting in various inbound area activities not related to forklift operation, such as: loading and unloading vehicles, supplying packaging materials and raw materials to the buffer area using hydraulic pallet trucks, operating stretch wrapping machines, palletizing loads, supplying manufacturing with CHEP pallets, handling returnable materials, cleaning, organizing, preventing risks, and maintaining the work environment, aiming to achieve area results in compliance with SHE, Quality, and UMS management systems. We invite you to become part of something greater. **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES** **SHE, QUALITY AND PSM RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Ensure your area operates in compliance with Unilever standards and applicable legislation regarding Safety, Health, Environment, and Process Safety, report unsafe conditions and actions, including those by third parties. Keep your workplace clean and organized throughout the entire working shift. * Update and monitor management boards and their indicators, as well as procedures for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and Process Safety management systems. * Perform activities according to procedures and work instructions under your responsibility, meeting Unilever's COMPASS, policies, objectives, targets, and established performance standards. * Use PPE according to the requirements and work instructions of each area. Participate in risk assessments and environmental aspects and impacts analyses related to your work area. * Participate in investigations of occupational safety, process safety, and environmental incidents in your work area. * Participate in emergency preparedness drills. * Report any incident related to Quality, safety, environment, or process safety. * Use natural resources efficiently—water, electricity, and natural gas—and contribute to reducing atmospheric emissions, consciously managing waste generation, practicing the 5Rs (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover), and complying with Unilever’s ZERO WASTE TO LANDFILL policy. * Act in accordance with established quality control procedures for your role, ensuring compliance with the management system and respect for the consumer. **II \- DESCRIPTION OF MAIN ACTIVITIES:** * Conduct Safety Walks as part of the Anjos da Guarda program; * Perform equipment intervention activities applying the LOTO tool; * Raise SHE tags upon identifying risks; * Use, maintain, and follow PPE replacement routines; * Participate in Risk Assessment reviews; * Participate in LAIA (Environmental Aspects and Impacts Assessment) reviews; * Perform tasks within the scope of Working at Heights according to the relevant procedure (PR\-GA0025\); * Maintain a clean and organized workplace throughout the shift, following GMP rules for the category (savoury) and the Specific Combustible Dust Standard; * Perform activities minimizing consumption of natural resources (water, energy, particulate material, and waste); * Attend mandatory and legal training as per LNT; * Follow and execute Quality procedures (GMP) in your activities; * Assist the checker operator in counting and organizing tasks; * Keep the section (buffer area) supplied with packaging materials and raw materials; * Keep the warehouse workplace (floor, walls, screens, and pallet racking structures) clean and organized; * Perform non-routine tasks as defined by area leadership; * Clean and organize packaging materials, raw materials, and pallet racking structures; * Operate stretch film wrapping machine to wrap finished product pallets; * Operate manual hydraulic pallet trucks; * Wrap finished product pallets with stretch film using the wrapping machine; * Label finished product pallets with SAP tags; * Load and unload vehicles with packaging materials, raw materials, and finished products; * Supply manufacturing with packaging materials and raw materials using hydraulic carts; * Ensure shift coverage during break intervals, maintaining Safety and Quality standards; * Identify packaging materials and raw materials with SAP tags and green/red dots indicating quality status; * Unwrap packaging materials and make them available for manufacturing; * Palletize bulk loads (rice flour and cocoa powder); * Handle returnable materials; * Supply CHEP pallets to manufacturing (palletizing area); * Ensure operations are flawless, avoiding losses of products, packaging materials, raw materials, and quality compromises; * Perform rework and reprocessing of packaging materials and raw materials to reduce losses; * Assist and participate in the implementation of the 5S program; * Assist and participate in the implementation of the UMS Program [report tags (Red, Blue), initiate Quick Kaizen and Kaizens, and share knowledge through OPLs in your area]; * Assist in final receipt of finished products; * Inform leadership of any abnormalities found in the area; * Dispose of materials in trash according to selective waste collection; * Participate in factory improvement groups. **REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS** * High school diploma; * Unilever Safety Management System (ART/SOP, Life-Saving Rules, PSM Concepts, Combustible Dust); * Unilever Quality Management System (GMP, FSSC22000, HACCP, CRQS, CEP, Golden Rules, Procedures and Work Instructions); * Productivity Management System (UMS). **Skills** * Teamwork and interpersonal skills; * Commitment; * Responsibility; * Sense of priority. **At Unilever, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.** We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
