Founded in 1761 in Germany, Faber\-Castell is a global leader in the production of EcoL pencils — pencils made from reforested wood. Brazil, where the company has operated since 1930, represents the largest worldwide operation, maintaining three local factories and 10,000 hectares of cultivated forests in the country, providing raw material for up to 2 billion pencils produced annually and absorbing 900,000 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere, offsetting the carbon footprint of the brand’s production plants worldwide. This reinforces the company's transparent and sustainable performance across social, environmental, and economic aspects.
With products distributed across thousands of retail outlets in Brazil and exports to over 20 countries, Faber\-Castell Brazil stands out through the unique combination of tradition and quality in its products and services, which for decades have served as tools to inspire creativity in people’s lives. The company maintains a broad portfolio of school, artistic, and professional writing instruments including: colored and graphite EcoL pencils, markers, ballpoint pens, pencil sharpeners, erasers, mechanical pencils, creative kits, as well as a luxury line. Through its Innovation and New Business division in Brazil, the company is also expanding its reach and exploring new ways to encourage creativity among Brazilians, through initiatives such as the Creative Learning Program in schools, the Hora da Invenção platform, and investments in education-focused startups via its Corporate Venture Capital arm.
