The **Ramp Assistant** will perform ramp handling operations (screening, loading, and unloading) for aircraft safely, efficiently, and punctually, ensuring process efficiency and contributing to customers’ perception of the company’s services regarding baggage and cargo transportation and flight punctuality. Assist in aircraft arrivals and departures, and perform aircraft cleaning as required. **This is an exclusive position for the Porto Seguro Airport (BPS)!** ------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Responsibilities and Duties** * Monitor aircraft during arrivals and departures; * Verify and monitor baggage and cargo labels; * Place and remove wheel chocks and cones on aircraft according to the Customer Manual or dnata’s MGO; * Through reading baggage and cargo identification labels (with or without technological assistance), segregate items in airport screening areas to ensure loading onto appropriate storage devices (carts and/or ULDs) for correct flights; * Load baggage and cargo into aircraft holds following norms and procedures outlined in the MGO, including recommendations for special situations (fragile, dangerous, live animals, perishable goods); * Through reading volume identification labels, unload baggage and cargo and place them at designated locations (baggage reclaim carousels); * Segregate baggage and cargo during aircraft unloading to enable interline connections by reading volume identification labels; * Inspect and supervise baggage and cargo packaging, verifying proper suitability for transport to ensure flight and handler safety; * Properly handle and allocate baggage and cargo within aircraft holds, observing internal restraint and hold height safety limits; * Unload wheelchairs or baby strollers and place them at designated locations; * Guide equipment positioning during docking procedures to prevent collisions with the aircraft fuselage; * Service aircraft within established timeframes for each service type and airport classification; * Conduct pre-use checks on non-motorized equipment to ensure operational safety and report defective equipment to the GSE Technical Maintenance team; * Report any equipment anomalies during operations to supervisors. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Strong interpersonal communication skills; * Analytical ability in assessing situations; * Stress resistance; Physical requirements include broad and fine motor coordination, dexterity, articulation of upper and lower limbs, bipedal posture for performing tasks, trunk rotation and flexion, physical effort, and walking throughout the entire operational area. Sensory requirements include visual acuity for moving baggage from carousels to transport equipment, chocking, aircraft loading/unloading with luggage and cargo, flight-related signaling, floor inspection and scanning for dropped objects, and auditory perception for identifying audible signals from equipment and machinery on the tarmac.
