Oversee end-to-end import processes, from initial negotiation through cargo nationalization. Request, analyze, and compare international quotations, interpreting prices in foreign currency (USD/EUR) and commercial terms. Issue purchase orders and ensure alignment among negotiated terms, delivery schedules, and technical specifications. Proactively follow up with international suppliers to ensure adherence to production, shipment, and documentation deadlines. Negotiate maritime, air, and multimodal freight quotations with freight forwarders, evaluating transit time, cost, and routing. Request foreign exchange scheduling and monitor the process with the finance department or partner banks. Monitor end-to-end logistics: pickup, consolidation, shipment, cargo tracking, and estimated time of arrival (ETA). Verify, validate, and organize import documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Air Waybill, Certificates, LI, DI, etc.). Send shipping and customs clearance instructions to the customs broker and oversee the entire process until final release.
