Electro Aço Altona S.A. was founded on March 8, 1924, as a small foundry and mechanical repair workshop. Initially named Auerbach \& Werner, it resulted from the partnership between German-origin owners: engineer Paul Werner and blacksmith Ernst Auerbach. The company grew and incorporated steel into its production line, changing its name to Electro Aço Altona in 1933\. Thus, the first steel foundry in Santa Catarina—and one of the first in Brazil—was born.
Over the past decade, the company acquired other enterprises to accommodate and expand its production line, and opened subsidiaries abroad to strengthen customer support in high-demand commercial regions such as Europe and North America.
Altona continuously progresses, consistently identifying the most dynamic economic sectors to broaden its operations, develop new markets, and deliver its steel solutions across diverse industries.
