Participation in Technical Discovery and Architecture Evolution Description: Actively contribute to the predictable and high-quality delivery of backend solutions, serving as a reference within the backend stack, supporting the team in adopting best technical practices, and helping elevate the standard of experience and performance for our customers. Responsibilities and Duties * High-Quality and In-Depth Technical Execution: Design, implement, and maintain rich and performant interfaces, ensuring readability, scalability, and adherence to technical standards defined by the team. Focus on technical excellence and attention to detail that enhances user experience. * Responsibility for Application Maintenance and Stability: Collaborate in maintaining application health by resolving bugs, refactoring code, and continuously improving application performance, accessibility, and reliability in production. * Collaboration on Technical and Product Roadmaps: Actively participate in initiative planning with PMs, PDs, and Tech Leads, helping refine requirements, identify technical risks, and anticipate implementation challenges for new features. * Technical Influence and Dissemination of Best Practices: Contribute to code reviews, propose improvements to component architecture and development best practices, foster a collective technical learning environment, and help the team maintain a high quality standard. Mentor engineers and disseminate engineering best practices. * Autonomy and Support for Technical Decision-Making: Assume responsibility for significant portions of the codebase, suggest solutions aligned with the area’s architecture, and collaborate in evaluating technical trade-offs. Serve as a technical support point in your area of expertise. * Participation in Technical Discovery and Architecture Evolution: Actively participate in technical discoveries, propose solutions aligned with the platform’s long-term vision, avoid overengineering, and ensure the technical sustainability of deliverables. Requirements and Qualifications * Experience as a senior backend engineer, building, evolving, and maintaining modern web applications in production. * Active participation in complex digital product projects, with focus on scalability, performance, and technical quality. * Practical expertise in backend development using Ruby on Rails, including a track record of applying best practices such as componentization, design partners, system design, and code organization emphasizing low coupling and high cohesion. * Experience working in agile teams, collaborating with PMs, designers, and backend engineers to deliver product-oriented solutions. * Experience with version control and CI/CD tools, with basic understanding of backend deployment, environments, and error monitoring (e.g., GitHub Actions, Vite, Sentry, etc.). * Software Architecture: advanced knowledge of system design, modularization, APIs, and event-driven architecture. * Software Engineering Practices: mastery of SOLID principles, design patterns, code review, automated testing, refactoring, and version control. * Programming: proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Ruby, Python, Go, Java, Node.js) and related frameworks. * Observability and Resilience: expertise in monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus), error tracing (e.g., Sentry, Rollbar), and management of asynchronous job queues/retries. * Development Lifecycle: comprehensive understanding of the entire delivery pipeline (from technical discovery to deployment), with active involvement in refinement, QA, and deployments. * Databases: familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL). 2511070202301513130
