We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our team at a biotechnology company focused on the development and production of bioinputs for agriculture.
Main Responsibilities
· Microbiology activities: Perform routine laboratory analyses and procedures, ensuring quality and compliance.
· Laboratory activity management: Plan and organize daily laboratory tasks, ensuring adherence to deadlines and schedules.
· Interface with production: Respond to production and technical analysis demands, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
· Supervision and support: Receive production and analysis requests, organize materials, delegate and monitor support team tasks.
· Document control: Organize and catalog protocols, invoices, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for raw materials, and other technical records.
· Quality assurance: Prepare, monitor, and evaluate the quality of inoculants and materials used in production.
· Direct communication: Report directly to the immediate supervisor, aligning laboratory activities and results.
Required Technical KnowledgeMicrobiology
· Aseptic techniques on benchtop and in biological safety cabinets.
· Preparation and sterilization of culture media (liquid and solid).
· Isolation, cultivation, and maintenance of microorganisms (especially bacteria and fungi).
· Inoculation, subculturing, viable cell counting (CFU), and microbial growth evaluation techniques.
· Culture purity assessment and contamination control.
· Knowledge of microbial preservation methods (glycerol, lyophilization, or cryopreservation).
Chemistry
· Handling of chemical reagents and preparation of solutions at various concentrations.
· Dilution, molarity, normality, and buffer preparation calculations.
· Interpretation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safe handling of chemicals.
· Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry applied to quality control of raw materials and products (pH, conductivity, total solids, etc.).
· Basic knowledge of titration techniques and nutrient quantification.
· Familiarity with regulations governing disposal and treatment of chemical and biological waste.
Requirements
· Technical or higher education degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields.
· Prior experience in microbiology laboratories or bioinput production is a plus.
· Organization, attention to detail, and planning ability.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Compensation: R$2\.200,00 \- R$2\.800,00 per month
