Develop and implement HSSE programs, policies, and procedures **What this role involves:** You will be responsible for leading robust health, safety, protection, and environmental (HSSE) programs to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all. This strategic position combines technical expertise with leadership in implementing policies and procedures aligned with the industry's highest standards and Brazilian legal requirements. Your responsibilities will include risk assessments, development of HSSE training programs, incident investigations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify hazards and mitigate risks. **Your day-to-day responsibilities:** * Develop and implement comprehensive HSSE programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with Brazilian legislation * Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of facilities, equipment, and operations * Coordinate and deliver HSSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors * Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and near-misses, developing corrective action plans * Collaborate on developing emergency response plans and effective preparedness * Monitor HSSE performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement * Conduct audits to assess compliance with HSSE standards and guidelines * Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns and educational initiatives **Mandatory Qualifications:** * Intermediate Spanish for conversation; * Bachelor's degree completed, preferably in Occupational Safety Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering disciplines; * Experience with ISO and LEED certifications; * In-depth knowledge of Brazilian health, safety, and environmental legislation; * Experience managing high-risk activities, risk management and prevention, and contractor management; * Proficiency in MS Office and HSSE management systems. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, or equivalent; * Postgraduate degree in Occupational Safety Engineering or related fields; * Experience in industrial or commercial sectors; * Knowledge of risk analysis methodologies and change management.
