Opportunity to influence strategic technical decisions We are looking for a **Data Engineering Specialist** to join our **Data and AI Platform Solutions team**, specifically the **Platform Management and Evolution team**, responsible for ensuring the evolution, integration, and deployment of tools, components, and the target architecture that underpin Sicredi’s data ecosystem. In this role, you will play a critical part in building and evolving a modern, scalable, and data-oriented platform, supporting digital transformation and driving intelligent data usage across the entire organization. You will operate in a high-impact environment, collaborating with engineers, architects, analysts, business squads, and other teams within the Data and AI Superintendence. Your focus will be ensuring that platform elements — from infrastructure, pipelines, frameworks, services, and tools — continuously evolve and align with market best practices, guaranteeing reliability, scalability, and security. Additionally, you will support adoption of the target architecture, contribute to strategic technical decisions, and guide internal teams on using data solutions. **Responsibilities and Duties** **Serve** as the technical reference for the evolution of the Data and AI Platform, ensuring alignment with the defined target architecture. **Develop and Implement** tools, standards, and capabilities that enhance efficiency, governance, and scalability of the data ecosystem. **Ensure** reliability, security, resilience, and observability of the solutions comprising the platform. **Support** architects and engineers in defining technical roadmaps, engineering standards, and long-term decisions. **Collaborate** with engineering, architecture, product, and business teams to ensure delivered solutions meet real needs with quality and performance. **Guide** and **enable** platform consumer teams, disseminating best practices, documentation, tools, and usage guidelines. **Promote** efficient use of platform capabilities, fostering automation, reuse, and standardization. **Plan** and **execute** modernization initiatives, technological upgrades, and component migrations to the target architecture. **Identify** opportunities for technical and structural improvement, proposing solutions that increase productivity and reduce complexity. **Monitor** platform component performance, anticipating risks and proactively addressing issues. **Ensure** modern engineering practices (CI/CD, IaC, versioning, automation, testing, governance) are applied to platform solutions. **Document** solutions, standards, architectures, and workflows, ensuring clarity and consistency across the organization. **Actively contribute** to a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. **Research** and **evaluate** emerging technologies, market trends, and innovation opportunities that can strengthen the platform. **Support** operational and sustainment processes, collaborating with responsible teams and assisting in resolving complex incidents. **Facilitate** integration among cross-functional teams, acting as the technical liaison between specialists, consumers, and stakeholders. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Mandatory Requirements** =========================== * **Hold** a completed undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Development, or related fields. * **Master** data engineering concepts and practices, including pipelines, modeling, quality, observability, and data governance. * **Have** solid experience with **Databricks** (mandatory), including notebooks, Delta Lake, clusters, jobs, and performance best practices. * **Deeply understand** modern data architectures (Data Lakehouse, Streaming, DataOps, MLOps). * **Work** with data engineering languages and frameworks, preferably **Python**, **SQL**, and automation tools. * **Know** cloud technologies and services, especially **AWS**. * **Apply** modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, IaC, code versioning, and automation. * **Understand** data security, privacy, governance, and corporate architecture principles. * **Possess** critical analytical ability, clear communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams. **Desirable Requirements** ========================= * **Experience** with **Teradata** databases, including performance tuning, modeling, and migrations (desirable). * **Experience** in high-scale environments and distributed big data solutions. * **Knowledge** of additional AWS frameworks and services (CloudWatch, Glue Catalog, Lake Formation, Kinesis, etc.). * **Experience** with Spark in production environments, job tuning, and optimization. * **Familiarity** with observability and pipeline monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, New Relic or equivalents). * **Experience** with event-driven architecture, messaging, and streaming (Kafka, Kinesis). * **Ability** to define engineering standards and best practices for data platforms. * **Experience** in corporate data platform modernization, migration, and evolution projects. **Additional Information** At the **Sicredi Administrative Center (CAS)**, for positions in business areas, we adopt a hybrid work model consolidated as 3 days onsite at the company headquarters located at Av.
