Backend Developer - Maintenance and Technical Support

Job Summary: We are seeking a developer with an investigative mindset to identify and fix bugs, and clearly communicate technical diagnoses of issues related to backend, databases, and APIs. Autonomy to investigate issues and fix bugs This is not a conventional support or help desk role. We seek a developer with an investigative profile capable of receiving reports such as “a filter is not working”, “data did not appear”, or “an automation was not executed”, and technically investigating what occurred. Issues typically relate to backend, databases, business rules, APIs, integrations, message queues, workers, or customer-specific data. The candidate will be responsible for identifying the root cause, fixing bugs when necessary, and communicating diagnoses clearly. Key Responsibilities: • Investigate bugs and issues reported by customers. • Reproduce errors and identify their root causes. • Analyze logs, requests, APIs, webhooks, queues, and asynchronous processes. • Create, analyze, and optimize PostgreSQL queries. • Investigate data inconsistencies or unexpected behaviors. • Fix backend bugs developed in Node.js and Express. • Implement minor improvements related to identified issues. • Create validations and tests to prevent recurrence of errors. • Open pull requests and track deployment of fixes. • Provide technical assistance during onboarding and integration of new customers. • Clearly communicate technical diagnoses to non-technical stakeholders. Main Technologies: • Node.js • Express • PostgreSQL • REST APIs • Webhooks • Git and GitHub Requirements: Experience developing backend applications in Node.js. Familiarity with SQL and PostgreSQL. Ability to investigate issues using logs and databases. Knowledge of Git and pull request workflows. Ability to quickly understand existing systems and codebases. Organizational skills to manage multiple requests and priorities. Autonomy to investigate issues without requiring detailed instructions. Strong communication skills and accountability when handling customer-impacting issues.
