**General Job Description:** The Cashier Operator is responsible for processing purchases, receiving payments in various forms, and closing the cash register. Works directly with customer service, playing a key role in the customer's shopping experience at the pharmacy. Must maintain ethical, courteous, and careful conduct regarding the company's financial resources. **Duties and Responsibilities:** * Receive payments from customers for purchases made in cash, checks, credit/debit cards, insurance plans, and the Popular Pharmacy program; * Complete sales transactions, issue receipts, and provide correct change; * Process credit and debit card payments in the system and on POS terminals; Perform cash register opening and closing procedures, including verifying the float amount and recording all transactions; * Carry out cash withdrawals (sangrias) with secure recording of removed amounts and notify the responsible supervisor; * Close sales related to the Popular Pharmacy program according to established operational procedures; * Open and close the POS terminal, generating sales reports by card network; * Serve customers courteously, empathetically, and efficiently, providing assistance when questions arise about prices, payment methods, and promotions; * Ensure the organization and cleanliness of the work area, keeping the cashier station in proper working condition; * Report any financial discrepancies or system issues to management or the responsible pharmacist.
