opportunity**:** **Purpose** Provide specialized geotechnical engineering\* support and services to AngloGold Ashanti (AGA)’s business, delivering maximum value to AGA’s operational assets and projects, in alignment with the company’s Vision and Values. * Geotechnical Engineering includes all mining-related topics involving Rock Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, and Engineering Geology, excluding tailings dams and heap leach facilities. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Align with AngloGold Ashanti’s Safety Vision and Values, contributing to strengthening a culture where safety is the company’s top priority, and supporting incident investigations when required. * Deliver specialized geotechnical engineering services for AGA’s underground assets, supporting operations and projects through technical analyses and solution development. * Follow corporate geotechnical systems and processes for geotechnical data collection, management, and validation—including use of tools such as GeotAgg and Power BI—as well as rock mass modeling and development of indicators such as GMRi and GRiP. * Contribute to the development and improvement of technical standards, procedures, and geotechnical processes—including data collection, geotechnical mapping, information validation and reconciliation, and project development support. * Support technical audits and field reviews of geotechnical practices, helping identify deviations and define action plans to ensure compliance with corporate standards. * Support implementation and use of corporate geotechnical systems—including data acquisition and storage, technical frameworks, and elastic numerical modeling (Map3D)—ensuring process and tool effectiveness. * Execute tactical geotechnical activities, as well as geotechnical projects and reviews for operations and projects, when required. * Actively contribute as a member of the CTO Technical Services team, following discipline-specific guidelines and procedures. * Support development and implementation of operation-specific geotechnical systems, processes, and procedures, ensuring adherence to corporate standards. * Supervise and monitor application of geotechnical standards and processes across operational units. * Perform temporary geotechnical assignments (secondments) at operations or projects when required—contributing to technical development of teams and advancement of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for involved professionals. **Mandatory Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or related field, with experience applying geotechnics to mining. * Proven experience in geotechnical data management and elastic numerical modeling—including use of tools such as Map3D and mXrap. * Strong understanding of mining cycle activities—including exploration, mine development, and operations. * Knowledge of databases, SQL, and programming tools applied to geotechnical data analysis. * Experience in operational geotechnical work across various mining methods—preferably underground mining. * Communication, influence, and interpersonal skills—with ability to interface effectively with diverse technical areas and leadership. * Ability to operate in multicultural environments and collaborate with teams across different locations. * Ability to analyze and interpret technical data for tactical decision-making—prioritizing actions in operational settings. * Advanced English proficiency for interaction with
