Coordinate traffic with other operators and supervisors The Motorized Flag Operator is the professional responsible for controlling, directing, and warning the traffic flow of vehicles and pedestrians in construction zones, highway maintenance areas, public utility service areas, or detour zones, ensuring the safety of on-site workers and drivers. What You Will Do: * Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using flags, stop/slow paddles, and motorized or manual signaling devices. * Monitor traffic flow to ensure worker safety on the roadway, alerting them to imminent hazards. * Install, position, and remove cones, signs, barriers, and warning lights, often using a support vehicle. * Communicate with other operators, construction crews, and supervisors—often via radio—to coordinate traffic in one or two lanes. * Observe traffic conditions and adjust signage as needed to prevent accidents and minimize congestion.
