Job Summary: Laboratory analyst responsible for analyzing biological and environmental samples, operating diagnostic equipment, and managing the laboratory team and processes. Key Highlights: 1. Team leadership and technical-scientific consulting Analyze samples of biological, bromatological, and environmental materials. To this end, collect and prepare samples and materials. Select equipment and supplies to ensure optimal final analysis results for subsequent release and issuance of reports. Conduct technical-scientific research. Work in blood banks and hematopoietic stem cell banks. Operate imaging diagnostic and radiotherapy equipment. Participate in vaccine, biopharmaceutical, and reagent production. Perform assisted reproduction and extracorporeal circulation. May provide technical-scientific advisory and consulting services. Work in compliance with good practice standards and procedures specific to their area of expertise. Process laboratory tests. Collect and prepare materials. Receive, sort, verify, centrifuge, and distribute biological samples for analysis to respective departments. Perform procedures assigned to their workstation, prioritizing result release. Release test results after quality control analysis, test analysis, and clinical correlations. Monitor pending sample collections and/or test results. Perform and evaluate internal and external quality control for conducted tests. Control, monitor, and record preventive and corrective equipment maintenance. Perform equipment maintenance. Enter work maps manually when not interfaced, and release tests via interface. Manage inventory control and material requisitions, considering consumption/losses of each item used in the department. Provide test-related clarifications to physicians and patients. Be responsible for the laboratory and/or collection site, ensuring proper laboratory operation. Archive raw data (work maps, spreadsheets, reports) from their department. Implement and execute quality programs and tools to ensure standardization. Act as a multiplier, promoting and transferring technical and scientific knowledge, and training new staff members. Support staff on technical questions and clarify client inquiries. Assist in SGQ processes inherent to their areas. Communicate with clients to discuss results, make recommendations, and schedule additional tests/re-collections if necessary. Ensure accurate registration of demographic data and monitoring of patient procedures, as well as possible samples from UBS/CLINICS/PARTNERS, among others. Maintain inventory records and update equipment and supply information. Maintain temperature control records, POPs, and calibration/validation certificates for equipment/instruments. Coordinate the technical team to schedule tests and ensure appropriate procedures are followed. Manage client accounts and maintain updated records. Conduct research on new methods to improve unit efficiency, accuracy, and routine operations. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and routines. Supervise/lead the team, providing instructions and feedback regarding procedures, protocols, routines, directives, and various trainings/meetings. Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning laboratory operations. Ensure organization of the entire workplace, including cleaning routines, equipment maintenance, unit operation, and various routines. Possess leadership skills to manage their team, including task delegation, providing feedback, and motivating staff to follow safety protocols and maintain laboratory cleanliness. Effective communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders, including laboratory staff, suppliers, executives, and clients. **Problem-solving skills:** identify and resolve issues occurring in the laboratory and troubleshoot equipment/day-to-day problems.
