Interpret mechanical engineering drawings of flat-patterned parts required by the project. Verify drawing scales, dimensions, material, thickness, etc. Program sheet metal cutting machines (various materials and thicknesses) for plasma or oxy-fuel cutting according to production or planning specifications. - Optimize sheet metal cutting layout to minimize waste. - Manage inventory of leftover plasma-cut sheets for reuse. - Monitor and assist machine operators whenever necessary. - Simulate cutting time for parts.
