NURSING TECHNICIAN - CHEMOTHERAPY (TEMPORARY)

Job Summary: Responsible for performing nursing care procedures across various clinical departments, ensuring service quality and patient safety. Key Highlights: 1. Responsible for performing nursing care procedures aligned with the institution’s mission, vision, and core values across various clinical departments, carrying out technical-level activities aimed at ensuring service quality and safeguarding patient safety across all levels of clinical complexity. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Comply with all legislation and regulations governing professional services; * Adhere to the Nursing Service Bylaws; * Conduct patient admission to the infusion room: introduce oneself, provide basic information regarding planned nursing procedures and activities, and clarify possible questions jointly with nursing supervision and the physician; * Record pertinent information for patients under one’s responsibility, ensuring treatment safety and continuity, based on current legislation and guaranteeing professional and institutional accountability; * Perform procedures exclusively assigned to nursing technicians per current legislation; * Assist registered nurses in preparing materials, executing delegated processes, and performing procedures reserved exclusively for registered nurses per current legislation: dressing changes for arterial venous catheters (AVCs), central line dressing (CDL) for totally implanted catheters, bladder and enteral catheterizations, puncture of totally implanted catheters, external jugular puncture, antineoplastic therapy, administration of blood components, pressure injury debridement following assessment and recommendation by the Pressure Injury Prevention and Treatment Committee, application of specialized wound dressings, care for critically ill patients, and management during emergencies/urgent situations; * Ethically and responsibly transport internal patients (between departments) and external patients (between units of the Instituto Mário Penna, other hospitals, and/or specialized clinics), per institutional protocols (complexity profile, safe movement checklist, etc.), current COFEN/COREN-MG regulations, monitoring level of consciousness, maintaining connections of invasive and life-support devices, applying protective measures and clinical risk management strategies, and maintaining vigilance over patients under one’s responsibility; * Accompany patient transport as mandated by current legislation: * Minimal Care: plan transport with a minimum of 1 nursing assistant or technician; * Intermediate Care: plan transport with a minimum of 1 nursing technician; * Semi-Intensive Care: plan transport with a minimum of 1 Clinical Nurse or Supervisor, and execute such transport if responsible for the department and the patient to be transported; * Intensive Care: plan transport with a minimum of 1 Clinical Nurse or Supervisor and 1 Nursing Technician, and execute such transport if responsible for the department and the patient to be transported; * Provide patients with safe, prompt, efficient, and courteous care; * Maintain confidentiality of institutional and patient information; * Provide nursing care and perform procedures for critically ill patients undergoing clinical or surgical treatment; * Implement preventive measures for identified risks based on institutional protocols, actively participating in risk management to prevent errors and patient harm; report any occurrence to the responsible nurse; * Record pertinent information for patients under one’s responsibility, ensuring treatment safety and continuity; * Prevent occupational accidents by mandatorily using PPE provided by the institution and complying with NR 32; Execute all Work Instructions and Systemic Procedures related to one’s position and function; * Comply with reassignment requests per the Employment Contract; * Perform duties within the scope of one’s competence in the assigned department; * Verify medical and nursing prescriptions, signing one’s name next to each item and affixing signature/stamp on the prescription; * Participate in nursing care planning; * Actively participate in the Risk Management Program to prevent errors and patient harm; report any occurrence to the responsible nurse; * In case of adverse health events, complete the incident notification form; * Practice biosafety and safety: implement systematic prevention and control of physical harm that may occur to patients during healthcare delivery; * Follow agreements established in client-supplier interactions when transferring patients across departments; * Follow routines outlined in the institutional Patient Safety Directive during patient movement for examinations; * Participate in and support certification processes; * Participate in discharge planning, providing patients and their companions—jointly with the nurse—with guidance on care and devices, if necessary; * Respond promptly to verbal requests or call bell signals from patients; * Administer medications safely, preventing patient harm; knowledge of high-alert medications required; * Maintain unit cleanliness and departmental organization, reporting non-conformities in this process to the hygiene service; * Ensure proper handling of equipment; * Keep patient records and documents orderly; * Notify the nurse regarding equipment repairs, maintenance needs, or missing equipment in the department; * Monitor material and medication expenditures and expiration dates to avoid waste; * Comply with the institution’s Solid Waste Management Plan (PGRSS); * Perform other related duties as requested **Requirements and Qualifications** **MANDATORY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS** * Completed Technical Nursing course; * Active professional registration with COREN–MG; * Demonstrated ability and knowledge to perform all nursing procedures exclusively assigned to nursing technicians; * Familiarity with the current Code of Professional Ethics. **DESIRED TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS** Experience as a nursing technician in oncology/hematology outpatient clinics, interaction units, or emergency departments. **Additional Information** Meal Allowance/Food Allowance: BRL 28.60 per workday;
