Focusing on robust, safe, and high-performance solutions **Job Description** **Who will you work with?** You will join the Signaling & Systems – Digital Intelligence team, working on highly complex railway signaling projects requiring strong cross-disciplinary integration and compliance with functional, operational, and safety requirements. You will interact with Project Management, construction and installation teams, procurement and materials, and the RAMS team, ensuring that technical specifications, safety requirements, and performance criteria are implemented and tracked throughout the entire engineering lifecycle. **How will you make a difference?** As a Senior Signaling Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, validation, and integration of advanced railway signaling systems, including analysis of complex circuits, vital logic, and functional architecture. You will collaborate closely with multifunctional teams, senior stakeholders, and customers to ensure solutions meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards across the entire engineering lifecycle. Beyond technical execution, you will play a key role in guiding analysts, contributing to strategic design decisions, and ensuring technical consistency of deliverables. Your expertise will be essential in delivering robust, safe, and high-performance signaling solutions, strengthening the reliability and efficiency of railway operations. **What do we want to know about you?** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. * Proven experience in railway signaling engineering, with a demonstrated track record in the industry. * Advanced English (written and spoken). * Solid experience in signaling system design, vital logic, and level crossing applications. * Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio). * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively with internal teams and customers. * Prior experience in the railway environment. * Focus on consistent deliveries supported by mature processes and people development. * Experience in electrical project design. * Good knowledge of LADDER programming and relay logic. * Knowledge of Python, Visual Basic, and VBA. * Basic knowledge of C and C\+\+. * Familiarity with electrical circuit simulation software (Multisim, PSIM, LabVIEW). * Basic knowledge of CAD software (Solid Edge, AutoCAD). * Willingness to travel. * Strong self-development capability, technical curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning. * Proactive, dynamic, and resilient profile, with ease in matrix organizational structures. * Strong organizational skills (record control, minutes preparation) and good communication (leading technical meetings). * Analytical profile, with strong synthesis ability for requirement review and identification. * Results-oriented focus. * Experience with technologies from different suppliers will be considered an advantage. * Desired but not mandatory: + Experience with ElectroLogIXS, ElectroCode, XP4\. + Familiarity with SATS (vital simulation software). **What will your day-to-day look like?** * Perform checking and implementation of signaling and level crossing systems, including programming of Vital Logic Controllers (VLC), Wayside Interface Units (WIU), and other critical components. * Act as technical leader in internal and customer reviews, leading discussions on architecture, design, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. * Guide and support analysts, promoting sound engineering practices and strengthening collaborative work among teams. * Contribute to the development of procedures and operational test sheets, ensuring adherence to project requirements. * Develop, monitor, and update engineering schedules, ensuring timely achievement of milestones and technical deliverables. * Interact directly with customers, providing technical support, clarifying requirements, and tracking delivery progress. * Support estimation and budgeting activities for new signaling projects. * Conduct requirement elicitation, analysis, and validation across all phases of the engineering lifecycle. * Develop and integrate new systems and technologies applied to train control. * Diagnose operational failures through log and event record analysis, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions. * Prepare technical reports consolidating status updates, failure analyses, and conclusions for customers and internal departments. * Develop processes, tools, and automations to optimize work routines, increasing efficiency and standardization. * Conduct field technical visits, as required by projects. * Support the Testing and Commissioning team, with availability for on-site work when needed. * Contribute to maintenance and assisted operation activities, ensuring operational continuity and performance. **Benefits:** At Wabtec, people come first.
