Explore the potential of AI in data management **About the Opportunity** We are looking for a Senior DBA with solid technical expertise and forward-looking vision to join a rapidly evolving technology team within one of the largest financial institutions in the country. The role goes beyond traditional database administration: we seek someone who understands that the DBA of the future is a Database Reliability Engineer—capable of automating processes, building resilient environments, and beginning to explore the potential of AI agents applied to data management. If you are hands-on but also think architecturally and want to be part of this transformation, this opportunity is for you. **Responsibilities** **Administration and Performance** * Administer and maintain SQL Server (primary), MongoDB, and PostgreSQL environments across production, staging, and development. * Perform performance tuning, index analysis, statistics review, and execution plan analysis. * Manage high-availability environments, with experience in SQL Server AlwaysOn. * Monitor environments using tools such as CloudWatch, Ops Manager, Zabbix, SQL Profiler, and pgAdmin. **Reliability and Security** * Implement and manage backup, restore, and contingency routines focused on operational resilience. * Ensure security best practices, data encryption, and anonymization of sensitive data. * Support development and infrastructure teams in troubleshooting and continuous performance improvement. **Automation and Evolution** * Automate operational tasks using Shell Script, PowerShell, or DevOps tools. * Participate in data migration and modeling projects, ensuring compliance with internal standards. * Contribute to the evolution of the DBA role toward Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE) practices. * Collaborate on initiatives leveraging AI agents for database environment management and automation. **Requirements** **Mandatory** * Proven experience administering SQL Server (the primary stack focus). * Knowledge of MongoDB and PostgreSQL. * Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, data modeling, and execution plan analysis. * Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server environments. * Experience automating tasks via Shell Script or PowerShell. * Experience working in cloud environments—AWS and/or Azure. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). **Preferred** * Certifications in SQL Server, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL. * Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools applied to databases. * Knowledge of Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools. * Familiarity with Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE) practices. * Experience in data migration projects or modernization of legacy environments. * Active interest in intelligent automation and AI application in data infrastructure contexts. **Benefits (Contractor)** ?️ Wellhub — access to gyms and physical & mental wellness programs. ?
