Job Summary: A Cashier responsible for operating the POS system, serving and registering customer purchases, participating in sales campaigns, and assisting in training new cashiers. Opportunity to assist in training new colleagues * Perform POS opening procedures: log into the system, verify and organize the cash drawer provided by the Cash Supervisor, clean and organize the checkout area to prepare both the environment and system for serving customers. * Serve customers according to Almeida Mercados’ quality standards: greet customers, offer the Almeida Club membership, request CPF for invoices, scan products, and complete transactions courteously. * Register purchased items at the checkout carefully; weigh produce, complete the transaction, inform the customer of the item’s price, and assist with packing when necessary. * Participate in store-initiated sales campaigns by promoting featured products during purchase registration to introduce and promote those products and support increased store sales. * Request cash withdrawals (cash drops) from Cash Supervisors whenever the register balance reaches the established threshold, monitoring and assisting in the procedure as instructed. * Collaborate in acquiring coins and change, continuously monitoring the optimal way to provide change to customers and requesting change from customers as needed. * Assist in training new cashiers by instructing them on technical procedures and customer service practices, always emphasizing professionalism and ethics to ensure new employees receive comprehensive procedural guidance for delivering excellent customer service.
