Job Summary: The General Services Assistant at the Institute of the Environment supports the cultivation of native seedlings and greenhouse maintenance, contributing to reforestation and environmental conservation. Ensure sustainable management practices and biodiversity preservation. **The General Services Assistant at the Institute of the Environment** is responsible for supporting native seedling cultivation, greenhouse and outdoor area maintenance at the Pró\-Mata Reserve, contributing to reforestation, environmental conservation, and sustainability initiatives. **Your primary challenge** is ensuring healthy seedling development and area preservation while adhering to safety, health, and environmental protocols. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Cultivate, care for, and monitor the growth of araucaria, yerba mate, and native fruit seedlings. * Ensure appropriate irrigation, ventilation, temperature, and fertilization conditions in greenhouses. * Operate tractors and necessary implements for greenhouse and outdoor area management. * Perform basic preventive and corrective equipment maintenance. * Conduct field mowing and trail cleaning. * Support maintenance of roads and improvements at the Pró\-Mata Reserve. * Assist in reforestation activities, planting, and transplanting seedlings in designated areas. * Participate in environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives. * Follow safety, health, and environmental protocols. * Ensure sustainable management practices and preservation of local biodiversity. **Requirements and Qualifications** Requirements * Skills in substrate preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control; * Knowledge of roads, fences, sheds, and improvements; * Prior experience in agricultural practices; * Completed High School or Technical Education **Additional Information** **Our Benefits Package:** * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Daycare reimbursement for children up to 4 years old * Education assistance covering up to 80% of undergraduate tuition fees and 50% of postgraduate tuition fees * Supplementary private pension plan * Year-end recess * On-site meals If you believe in meaningful work that creates value and positive impact on society and the university, JOIN PUCRS!
