If you are an internal candidate (\#E), please apply via Eaton Jobs (Intranet \> Joe \> EatonJobs) **What you’ll do:** ------------------- **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:** * Responsible for internal or customer failure analysis and development of improvements. * Responsible for executing and providing technical guidance on quality functions to achieve plant quality goals. * Development of more suitable measurement and control systems aligned with process requirements and customer specifications. * Involved in training and advising inspectors and operators. * Develops and formulates procedures to ensure continuous improvement of the quality system. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** A. Provide technical support to the plant, inspectors, and suppliers through part process analysis, dimensional inspections, and application of statistical analysis techniques to resolve issues and improve product quality before, during, and after production; B. Formulate improvement proposals for manufactured part control plans to standardize actions, measurements, instruments, monitoring methods, sampling, critical part characteristics, and quality control criteria, as well as support the development of purchased part control plans; C. Plan execution, analysis, and interpretation of machine capability studies, machine try-outs, and repeatability and reproducibility (MSA) studies for dimensional control instruments introduced into the production process; D. Evaluate quality failures occurring during production—such as thermal treatment distortions, gear meshing noise, design and process failures—and propose appropriate corrective actions, which may include product design modifications, manufacturing process adjustments, cutting tool corrections, control instrument revisions, and gear tooth geometry standards for gear cutting; E. Approve and manage rework proposals F. Lead and coordinate problem-solving teams (e.g., rapid response meetings, quarantine meetings), effectively applying problem-solving tools. G. Provide technical support to internal customers (manufacturing and inspectors) and external customers and suppliers, as required. Support interactions with Eaton’s customer engineers for approval and implementation of improvement programs. Prepare and present materials for customer representatives, as needed. Adhere to scheduled visits. H. Develop and deploy quality procedures. Support cross-functional collaboration across plant departments in applying quality techniques; I. Support internal audits (process and product) and Fresh Eyes audits. J. Develop and deliver quality training courses covering quality techniques, product knowledge, and control methods; K. Prepare proposals and conduct analysis and procurement of quality control instruments and devices L. Formulate improvement proposals for quality processes and procedures M. Lead process and product qualification activities. Develop internal approval standards (e.g., gear data sheets green). Analyze and prepare product performance reports (e.g., dimensional RIAI, metallurgical RIAI, PPAP, etc.) N. Analyze and develop solutions to improve field product performance **Qualifications:** ------------------- **Education and Skills Required for the Position:** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related fields. * Proven experience in quality or manufacturing engineering. * Experience with problem-solving tools and techniques (8D, root cause analysis, corrective actions, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, mistake-proofing / poka-yoke). * Strong relationship-building ability with excellent communication skills across multiple levels (managers and team members). * Proficiency in computer applications supporting control analysis and decision-making (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project). * Experience with basic statistical tools (capability analysis, MSA, PFMEA, control plans, Minitab). * Experience interpreting and creating engineering drawings (GD&T, AutoCAD). * Ability to effectively train, guide, facilitate, and influence all organizational levels. * Experience in failure analysis. * Intermediate English proficiency. **Additional Specialized Knowledge (not mandatory):** * Understanding of ELSS and EQS as components of Eaton Business System (EBS). * Green Belt certification. * Internal auditor for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, TS16949\). * Product knowledge and application expertise. \#LI\-RS6 We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
