Description
Responsible for performing basic activities in the butcher department, including initial meat preparation, simple customer service, and support for daily operational routines, always under the guidance of the Supervisor or more experienced butchers. This position is intended for technical development and learning of the trade.
**Detailed job description:**
**Production support:** Assist in initial meat preparation; sort, weigh, and package products; support simple cuts under supervision.
**Department organization:** Maintain clean counters, workbenches, and utensils; organize the cold room and department inventory; follow hygiene and safety standards.
**Customer service:** Handle simple customer requests; refer special orders to more experienced butchers; maintain a courteous and respectful attitude.
**Operational control and support:** Assist in checking product expiration dates; support departmental inventories; comply with instructions from the Supervisor.
**Technical competencies:**
* Basic knowledge of beef, pork, and poultry cuts;
* Proper handling of meats;
* Cleaning of utensils and environment;
* Appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE);
* Organization of counter and cold room;
* Basic expiration date control;
* Simple customer service;
* Support in department restocking;
* Visual identification of meat quality;
* Compliance with good practices.
Completion of elementary or high school education is desirable; basic experience in a butcher shop or meat handling is preferred. Training in food handling good practices is an advantage.
