Job Summary: Operate electric and/or gas-powered forklifts for loading/unloading and transporting materials, ensuring inventory organization and quality. Key Highlights: 1. Ensuring quality and safety during product handling **Purpose and impact of the role:** ----------------------------------- Operate electric and/or gas-powered forklifts, managing gear shifts, steering, and lifting controls to perform vehicle loading/unloading and transport materials (raw materials, finished products, or various supplies). **Key responsibilities:** ---------------------------------- Perform vehicle loading and unloading Daily movement of all production/expedition supply requirements and occasionally handle bagged goods on pallets Unload raw materials in BB at the bulk receiving hopper Inspect all required quality characteristics for incoming materials into production inventory (e.g., presence of batch identification and expiration date; each pallet must have a barcode card for material identification as well as a "In Use" quality tag) Move raw materials and assembled kits within production inventory according to procedure (10%) Verify entry and exit of finished products and raw materials from pallet rack and drive-in positions, checking positioning, batches, and quantities. For expedition, complete forms to formalize material movement Ensure completion of the forklift checklist before every operation shift, noting any anomalies found and escalating issues to the immediate supervisor Perform other tasks such as stock counts and cyclic/annual inventories Organize the area, stack products, and plan palletization to ensure proper product storage and maintain product quality Exercise all necessary care to prevent material loss due to operational errors, punctures, collisions, etc.; immediately report any incidents to the immediate supervisor Conduct load verification via handheld scanner to ensure accuracy Perform other duties consistent with the company’s safety standards under the direction of the immediate supervisor Follow occupational health and safety, food safety, and environmental safety regulations as outlined in internal procedures, orientation instructions, and periodic Integrated Management System trainings **Requirements:** ---------------- Completed high school education Valid Class B driver’s license Forklift operator training course Availability to work the following schedules and shifts: Monday to Saturday: 6:00 AM to 3:15 PM (alternate Saturdays); Monday to Saturday: 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM (alternate Saturdays); Monday to Saturday: 8:00 AM to 5:15 PM (alternate Saturdays); and Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM to 6:15 PM (alternate Saturdays) **Desired qualifications:** Experience with pallet rack storage and reach truck operation Experience with counterbalanced forklifts for loading and unloading operations At Cargill, every person matters.
