Focusing on complex problems with simple and elegant solutions **Job Description**: We are seeking a **Backend Engineer** with a focus on **Platform and Core Architecture**. The challenge here is not implementing UI screens or mutable business rules, but rather designing, building, and maintaining foundational, high-criticality components and hubs (e.g., our transactional hub) that serve as the bedrock of the company’s entire ecosystem. You will be responsible for ensuring our **fully serverless AWS infrastructure** remains resilient, scalable, secure, and efficient—establishing development standards, robust APIs, and event-driven architectures that streamline other teams’ work and withstand extremely high request volumes. If you’re passionate about pure engineering, performance, and "elevating the technical foundation" of a product, this is your place. **Key Responsibilities** * **Foundational Architecture:** Design and implement reusable core APIs (REST/GraphQL) and microservices, prioritizing high availability, domain isolation, and ultra-low latency. * **Serverless Platform Evolution:** Design and govern distributed, *event\-driven* (AWS) architecture, defining messaging patterns, resilience mechanisms (circuit breakers, retries, DLQ), and eventual consistency. * **Integration and Scaling Hubs:** Build and maintain complex transactional hubs, rigorously managing integration contracts, security (encryption, auth), and idempotency in concurrent scenarios. * **Engineering Culture \& DX (Developer Experience):** Establish and promote best coding practices, design patterns, automated testing (unit, integration, E2E), and efficient CI/CD pipelines. * **Technical Reference and Mentoring:** Serve as cross\-team technical leadership—conducting in-depth code reviews, mentoring junior/mid-level engineers, and influencing architectural and tooling decisions. * **Observability and SRE\-ish Practices:** Ensure production environment health through robust instrumentation (structured logs, metrics, tracing) and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for complex incidents affecting the foundational layer. **What We’re Looking For?** * **Strong Backend Background:** Minimum 5 years of hands-on backend development experience, with absolute mastery of **Node.js** and **TypeScript**. * **Distributed Architecture:** Proven, deep experience designing microservices and asynchronous, event-/messaging-based systems (SQS, SNS, EventBridge, or Kafka). * **AWS Serverless Expertise:** Advanced, production-proven experience with the serverless ecosystem (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB, IAM). * **Data Modeling and Persistence:** Proficiency in data modeling for complex transactional and heavy-read scenarios, across both relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB). * **Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** Practical experience automating environments using **AWS CDK** or **Serverless Framework**. * **Engineering Fundamentals:** Deep knowledge of security (OAuth 2\.0, JWT, secret management), concurrency patterns, locking mechanisms, and idempotency. * **Big-Picture Thinking and Ownership Mindset:** Ability to look beyond individual tasks and proactively identify structural bottlenecks, security risks, or platform optimization opportunities. * **Technical Pragmatism:** Focus on solving complex problems with simple and elegant solutions, delivering incrementally and avoiding *overengineering*. * **Teaching Ability and Influence-Based Leadership:** Capacity to collaboratively and constructively disseminate new technical standards across the engineering team—without imposing bureaucratic barriers. * Technical English fluency. **Nice-to-Haves** * Deep expertise in serverless performance and cost optimization (*cold starts*, *provisioned concurrency*, advanced DynamoDB indexing strategies and access patterns). * Experience with industry-standard observability tools (Datadog, OpenTelemetry). * Prior experience in *Core*, *Platform*, *Engineering Excellence*, or high-scale payment/fintech hubs. * Spanish **Additional Information** Contract Model: PJ Work Model: Remote **Location****Contract Model****Work Model** São Paulo, SP, BR Autonomous PJ Remote
