It implements social projects based on an integral and solidarity-based development methodology, oriented toward autonomy and human dignity. **BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:** Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and the Protection Officer, the Protection Assistant III will provide support in case management and service delivery for migrant and refugee children and adolescents. This includes activities related to migration regularization procedures, family reunification, and guidance on accessing basic services in Brazil. The professional will be responsible for coordinating with the local protection network for case referrals, working in partnership to ensure high-quality implementation of activities in accordance with institutional planning and rules. **MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** Work towards the effective implementation of AVSI’s mission—to empower individuals facing vulnerability or humanitarian emergencies as protagonists of their own development, as well as that of their families and communities; Carry out duties in accordance with the job description, Code of Ethics and Conduct, international humanitarian protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); Stay informed about Operation Welcome (Operação Acolhida), its various components (border, shelters, interiorization), and possess basic knowledge of Brazil’s protection network; Stay informed about services offered at PITRIG and/or project sectors of intervention to respond appropriately to target populations; Ensure daily organization and good condition of the workplace (appropriate furniture, functioning equipment, up-to-date work materials) and cleanliness; Engage in dialogue and cooperate with local actors carrying out activities (UNICEF, UNHCR, FT Log Hum, Federal Police, UN agencies, civil society, and others); Identify and refer medium- and high-complexity cases (e.g., rights violations, serious medical conditions, unaccompanied or separated children) for individualized and/or protective interventions; Conduct protection-related service delivery; Build trust-based relationships with migrant populations, consistently prioritizing the strengthening of bonds with children and adolescents; Independently produce and submit reports and plans whenever required by coordination and/or the Protection Officer; Update information in the project’s designated system; Record data in the project’s monitoring tools and actively contribute to the monitoring team’s verification of collected data; Actively participate in events such as: targeted interventions, internal trainings for protection and education teams, trainings for the local protection network, and others; Assist in implementing preventive activities/interventions—including discussion circles and workshops involving children, adolescents, and their parents or caregivers; Coordinate closely with the local Child and Adolescent Protection Network, respecting pre-established communication flows; Work in alignment with the organizational chart defined for this role; Provide case-related information to coordination and/or the Protection Officer whenever requested; Participate in weekend and holiday on-call shifts when necessary; Other tasks assigned by the program management as needed to support local activity implementation.
