Description
The professional will be responsible for leading and executing geological work, including drilling, sampling, mapping, modeling, estimation, and geological interpretation — covering the initial conceptualization, development, and execution of projects, geological mapping and sampling (both surface and subsurface), contributing to the evaluation of the gold potential of areas, supporting extraction operations, and ultimately enabling mineral reserve expansion and maintenance of granted exploration and mining permits.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Technically evaluate geological parameters by planning tests and sample collection, critically analyzing laboratory results to ensure process efficiency and achievement of defined targets.
* Technically supervise and guide field sample collection and test execution, ensuring adherence to scheduled plans and established procedures (with focus on QA/QC).
* Prepare technical progress and update reports (geological, models, parameters, technical risks, etc.) in accordance with technical standards and internal procedures, to support exploration, licensing, and decision-making processes.
* Maintain an organized and up-to-date area database (data entry, monitoring, and control), by recording quality control reports, sample analyses, and maps.
* Monitor mining and production activities to identify and optimize geometallurgical parameters, thereby ensuring process productivity and product quality.
* Perform 3D geological modeling to generate mineral reserve estimates for mine planning purposes.
* Conduct reconciliation (in coordination with the planning team) of production-related information and compare it against the planned schedule, making necessary adjustments for operational control and decision-making.
* Supervise geological drilling through site visits, interacting with drill operators to ensure the quality of rock material to be described.
* Prepare geological maps based on surface mine mapping, collecting lithological and structural information (e.g., fractures, faults, foliation), identifying hydrothermal alteration zones and others, using specialized software, and storing these maps in the database.
* Collaborate with various internal client or impacted departments to align planning and execution of geological activities with business objectives.
* Develop and coordinate geological information to support long-term and short-term mining plans, as well as auxiliary projects.
* Develop, conduct, and evaluate geotechnical data collection, processing, and communication; sampling and description of drill holes for "Ore Control" and other sampling programs related to ore processing and metallurgy.
* Develop, evaluate, and clearly communicate the geometry of mineralization and its economic context relative to mine plans.
* Plan, implement, and execute all assigned responsibilities with proficiency, autonomy, and outstanding performance — including tasks falling within engineering technical responsibilities — mastering all operations, processes, or equipment within the area of expertise (or possessing mastery of processes and technologies across multiple disciplines), while applying a comprehensive and systemic analytical perspective, supported by management for decisions exceeding the scope of individual autonomy or knowledge.
**Requirements and Qualifications** **Mandatory Requirements**
* Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
* Advanced level English;
* Experience in short-term mine planning;
* Willingness to work in the field;
* Proficiency in specialized software such as Leapfrog, Acquire, QGIS/MapInfo, etc;
**Additional Information** **Salary + Benefits**
* Health Plan (co-payment);
* Dental Plan (co-payment);
* PR — Profit Sharing;
* Private Pension;
* Life Insurance;
* Meal Allowance;
* Transportation Allowance;

Hello! We are Kinross Brasil Mineração, part of Kinross Gold Corporation — a Canadian group operating in South America (Brazil and Chile), North America (United States and Canada), and Africa (Ghana and Mauritania).
With operations at the Morro do Ouro mine in Paracatu, northwestern Minas Gerais; an office in Belo Horizonte; and hydroelectric plants in Caçu and Barra dos Coqueiros, Goiás, we are one of Brazil’s largest gold producers, responsible for 22% of national gold output.
Gold mining, processing, and marketing — that is our business, made possible only by people. Today, we account for approximately 22% of formal jobs in the municipality of Paracatu, providing around 1,800 direct jobs and nearly 4,000 contracted positions.
We continuously seek to maximize opportunities and invest further in our team, betting on talent development and building a valuable workforce. After all, “People First” is one of our core values.
One of our eight commitments to people is to expand diversity. We recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to building a respectful, innovative environment offering equal opportunities for everyone. Discussing and practicing this principle is an ongoing exercise in our company, and we move forward confidently, step by step, toward achieving our goals in this direction.
