The Underwriter is responsible for supporting the underwriting team in evaluating, analyzing, and processing risks, while building technical and practical expertise in underwriting policies, regulatory standards, and company guidelines. We currently have employment opportunities for an **Underwriter** at our headquarters in Hato Rey. **Responsibilities** ------------- * Assist in gathering and reviewing information required for risk evaluation. * Analyze insurance applications under the supervision of a Senior Underwriter. * Support preparation of quotations, renewals, and endorsements. * Learn and apply underwriting guidelines, internal policies, and risk criteria. * Verify compliance with regulatory and company requirements. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in underwriting systems. * Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, Claims, and Customer Service. * Participate in training programs, capacity-building sessions, and performance reviews. * Escalate complex or out-of-authority cases to the appropriate supervisor. **Education** ------------- Bachelor’s degree in: Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics. **Experience** --------------- Prior experience in underwriting at insurance companies or as an insurance intermediary is preferred. **Benefits** -------------- * Retirement and Savings Plan (401K) with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of salary, * Life Insurance, * Medical Plan, * 15 annual vacation days, * Modern gym in the headquarters building, cafeteria, on-site medical clinic, * Professional Development Program, * Employee Assistance Program, * Discount on Company Insurance Products, * Recognition Programs, * Health Fairs, * Employee Activities and other optional benefits.
