The Traffic Operator - Heavy-Duty Tow Truck is responsible for operating heavy-duty tow trucks to remove vehicles obstructing roadways, responding to incidents, and contributing to the safe and efficient flow of traffic on highways. Additionally, must maintain constant communication with the Operations Control Center (CCO) and coordinate vehicle removal activities according to safety standards and operational procedures.
* Operate heavy-duty tow trucks to remove accident-damaged, broken-down, or obstructing vehicles from highway lanes, ensuring the safety of all involved;
* If necessary, operate other operation vehicles such as light-duty tow trucks, livestock transport trucks, water tank trucks, and traffic inspection vehicles;
* Ensure safety during vehicle recovery by following safety regulations and using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
* Maintain constant communication with the CCO (Operations Control Center), reporting incident locations and receiving guidance for optimal response;
* Transport vehicles safely to designated locations (impound yards, repair shops, or destination points), taking care to avoid damage to the vehicle or roadway;
* Collaborate with other support and security teams, such as traffic officers and security agents, during vehicle recovery and transportation;
* Inspect the heavy-duty tow truck before each operation to ensure equipment is in good working condition, performing preventive maintenance when necessary;
* Complete incident and activity reports, including information about the removed vehicle, time, location, and any important service details;
* Assist in traffic signaling and control at vehicle recovery sites, ensuring work is conducted safely without posing risks to drivers and other highway users;
* Perform basic maintenance on the tow truck, such as checking fluids, tires, and other essential components to ensure vehicle operability;
* Respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies such as accidents or highway blockages, minimizing traffic impact;
* Operate the vehicle safely in compliance with traffic regulations and organizational policies;
* Know and comply with policies, standards, procedures, or work instructions defined by Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, and Road Safety management systems, according to their area of responsibility, established by the company or current legislation.
