**[Tech] Backend Software Engineering Specialist - Java** ================================================================== TOTVS | Assis - SP | Hybrid Job Description Serve as a technical and business reference within your area of expertise, participating in projects of varying complexity that not only add value to the product but also ensure customer satisfaction and team growth within your product or domain. Responsibilities and Duties * Perform maintenance, implementation, or services of medium-to-high complexity involving business rules, by implementing software requirements using the technologies involved in the project; * Perform maintenance, implementation, or services of high complexity with minimal supervision and limited support, by implementing software requirements using the technologies involved in the project; * Possess in-depth knowledge of the software architecture and be capable of working within it through analysis of its components, organization, and functionalities; * Create highly complex tests—whether manual or automated—that cover the intended behavior of developed features, using requirements and testing tools; * Document or validate documentation for developed deliverables to ensure end-user comprehension; * Guide and collaborate with the development team to identify business, architectural, and design solutions through communication and knowledge sharing, resolving questions and disseminating expertise in internal and external forums, while also interacting with other departments to drive improvements; * Suggest improvements to processes, tools, procedures, products, and technologies through critical analysis; * Specify medium-to-high complexity requirements by engaging with customers and relevant departments involved in the project or support, proposing their implementation in the product; * Identify opportunities to improve coding practices, documentation, testing, and other development processes; * Serve as a subject-matter expert regarding your area of product expertise—gathering requirements, proposing solutions, evaluating alternatives, and conducting training sessions; * Suggest improvements to development processes based on technical expertise to optimize both your own and others’ deliverables. Requirements and Qualifications * Proven ability to design scalable, resilient, business-oriented architectures while balancing delivery speed and technical sustainability. * Decision-making grounded in trade-offs (cost, performance, risk, time-to-market). * Experience with distributed architectures and microservices. * Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). * Experience with event-driven systems. * Experience with observability and reliability (SRE mindset). * CI/CD and pipeline automation. * Automated testing (unit, integration, contract, E2E). * Security-by-design (DevSecOps). * Ability to align architecture and technical roadmaps with product strategy and business scalability. * Definition of engineering standards and corporate best practices. * Influence across multiple teams and concurrent projects. * Ability to align engineering, product, and business objectives. * Support strategic decision-making with clarity and objectivity. * Act as a bridge between product and engineering teams. * Foster an engineering culture and continuous learning. * Proactive problem-solving for complex issues without excessive dependency.
