Job Summary: A professional to assist in meal production and distribution, ensuring food hygiene and safety in a hospital environment. Key Highlights: 1. Assist in meal preparation for patients and staff 2. Ensure food hygiene and workplace safety 3. Maintain equipment and cleanliness of the area * Perform food pre-preparation for patients, companions, and staff according to instructions from chefs and the Nutrition Technician; * Sanitize utensils; * Record equipment temperatures; * Comply with food hygiene and occupational safety standards. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Assist chefs in meal preparation, adhering to food hygiene standards, previously specified menu items for patients and staff, and the production schedule; * Prepare coffee for breakfast and evening meals for patients, and coffee dispensers for staff; * Assist in meal preparation by washing, peeling, selecting, chopping, or grinding ingredients, and preparing simple desserts under supervision, as needed; * Manage utensils used for meal distribution in the cafeteria; * Stock the cafeteria distribution counter; * Clean utensils and department equipment using sinks or dishwashers; * Deliver coffee and biscuits to closed departments, management offices, meetings, and events; * Distribute tea, coffee, and water bottles according to the scheduled timetable and designated locations, collecting them at established times; * Collect food samples for microbiological analysis; * Ensure personal safety by using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for each activity and promote collective safety through safe professional practices; * Carry out duties applying departmental norms and procedures; * Maintain, preserve, service, and clean equipment, instruments, materials, and the work area; * Report any operational issues to the Nutrition Technician; * Perform other related tasks as requested by supervisors; * Operate food preparation and handling equipment under the guidance of the Nutrition Technician; * Remove waste from work areas at the end of each shift, separating recyclables for disposal in properly labeled bins and general waste for storage in the waste chamber; * Perform weekly cleaning of kitchen equipment according to the schedule. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed elementary education; * Prior experience in the field is desirable. **Additional Information** Work schedule: 12 hours on / 36 hours off Benefits: Meal allowance (VA), life insurance, on-site cafeteria, SESC partnership, and transportation allowance (VT). **SPDM** \- Associação Paulista para o Desenvolvimento da Medicina (São Paulo Association for Medical Development) is a non-profit, philanthropic civil association, federally, state-, and municipally recognized as being of public utility, pursuant to Decrees No. 57\.925, dated 03/04/1966; No. 40\.103, dated 05/17/1962; and No. 8\.911, dated 07/30/1970, respectively.
